Jess King began dancing at age 2, later appeared on season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance, and starred in the lead role of Cirque du Soleil’s Las Vegas show Le Rêve before finding her way to Peloton in 2014. A decade in, she remains one of the platform’s most dynamic instructors, known for blending dance-party energy with intense workouts across Bike and Tread. She’s also a certified life coach, a working DJ (performing as DJ Yass King, including a Silent Disco set closing out BottleRock Napa Valley 2026 on May 24), and Culturelle’s Chief Wellness Ambassador. She and her wife, Sophia Urista, have two children, Lucien (“Luz”) and Afiza (“Íza”).

In July 2026, King became an official Power Zone instructor, extending her coaching into Peloton’s structured, zone-based training format. She announced the new role at the end of her 30-minute Sweat Steady ride on July 10, telling members their years of loyalty to that format made the shift possible: “All of you have been taking Sweat Steady over the years loyally, I got to thank you, you are what has made me a Power Zone instructor possible.” Her first official Power Zone class, a Power Zone Endurance Ride, was scheduled for July 16. She was direct that Sweat Steady isn’t going anywhere, telling members “Sweat Steady is not going anywhere, let’s be very clear. Sweat Steady is Power Zone in disguise.” 

King has also been building well beyond the studio. In April 2026, a Flow Space feature had her sharing her midlife strength framework, three tips centered on nervous-system regulation through breathwork, gut health through daily probiotics, and prioritizing consistency over intensity. The same week, she teased the next evolution of her media platform, On the Record, which she originally launched in partnership with Kargo and Fabrik at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June 2024 as a space to amplify diverse creators, women, Latinas, and the queer community. The April 2026 tease signals the platform is moving into a new show format.
