Transcript:
Tom: Welcome to the Clip Out Podcast, episode 465. This is Crystal O’Keefe.
Speaker 3: And this is Tom O’Keefe. So I was feeling a little gunky.
Tom: Yeah okay. So I
Speaker 3: took an Advil Cold and Sinus.
Tom: All right. ‘
Speaker 3: Cause, uh-
Tom: Clear that gunk up …
Speaker 3: trying. But-
… ‘
Speaker 3: Cause that’s got Sudafed in it, which is like huh. Woo. But I also had an energy drink.
Oh, no. So I just wanna let people know I cannot be legally held responsible- … [00:01:00] for what happens moving forward. So by l- I’m treating this like an internet survey or something. By listening, you have agreed to the terms and services- … that God only knows what might come out of my mouth. So.
Tom: Well, save it for the, uh, Patreon, honey.
Speaker 3: We c- record that tomorrow, so who knows what sort of condition I’ll be in by then. I could’ve been canceled by then.
Tom: Especially since you have to work tonight. Yes. It’ll be a late one.
Speaker 3: Ah, graduations.
Tom: Graduation season.
Speaker 3: Ugh. Coming up, I gotta do two days with four in a day.
Tom: Whoa. Four
Speaker 3: graduations in a single day.
Tom: I’m tired just thinking about
Speaker 3: that. Yeah. So, uh, what pray tell do you have in store for people?
Tom: We are gonna talk about, uh, Peloton now adding third-party apps to the streak count. That’s a huge deal. We also have some reviews official reviews- Uh-huh … about Peloton IQ. Okay. Uh, we have new run clubs to cover for [00:02:00] London and New York City.
We have details on the next lululemon Members Weekend. We also have p- Kira Michelle is going to be at the next Love Shine Play Festival. Also, some other news about instructors, Cody Rigsby starting some- Ooh … drama, a little hot water.
Speaker 3: Yeah, a little accidental drama.
Tom: Yeah. Tunde m- making her Sports Illustrated debut.
Johanna has officially become a lululemon ambassador. Okay. But we’re gonna talk about why that’s an interesting timing. Right. Um, and then John Hosking, back in June- I kind of already knew that, though. Yeah. Little bit.
Speaker 3: Well. Little bit. Well, how would you find something like that out?
Tom: I was behind the scenes.
Things happened. You were
Speaker 3: the scene.
Tom: Uh, we also have some fun things to talk about with Katie Wong, has to do with cats, so it’ll be your favorite.
Speaker 3: I love cats.
Tom: Uh, and y- it, to not be missed, along with graduation [00:03:00] season- Mm-hmm … we have the Peloton superlatives. Nikki is at it again. Okay. She has deemed, she has handed out awards-
Speaker 5: Okay
Tom: to the instructors. They’re amazing. Okay. Must listen. Not to mention, we have several bits of content to cover as well. And birthdays.
Speaker 3: Okay. Well, before we get to all that shameless plugs, don’t forget we’re available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart. Tune in wherever you find a podcast, you can find us.
While you are there, you should follow us so you never miss an episode. Maybe leave us a review. Super helpful. Great for our inflated egos. Helpful for the people who come along after you, like little breadcrumbs.
Tom: Yeah. Plus, the podcast police is like that when you do reviews. Yeah,
Speaker 3: so they tell us. Yeah. Uh, you can also share an episode on your social media, on the Facebook or the Instagram.
You can. Your MySpace page- … if you refuse to move forward through time. That’s super helpful. And, uh, places where you can find us on the internet, facebook.com/theclipout. [00:04:00] While you’re there, like the page, join the group. If you would like to support us with more than just your ears or your share button, well, perhaps you could make a financial arrangement.
Tom: Sounds weird. Over at the
Speaker 3: Patreon, patreon.com/theclipout. Phew. Five bucks a month, you get all sorts of bonus content. Like, some weeks almost as long as the main episode.
Tom: Yeah, a lot of weeks lately.
Speaker 3: We get even sillier. We do. So, uh, if you don’t like that aspect-
Tom: It’s probably not your thing …
Speaker 3: don’t give us your five dollars.
Don’t
Tom: do that.
Speaker 3: Uh, you also get early episodes and ad-free episodes, so, some people find that a,
Tom: a- Ugh …
Speaker 3: coffee not good?
Tom: I forgot to put in the, the flavor. Oh, goodness.
Speaker 3: Oh. Yeah. Anyway, Patreon.
Tom: What are we covering this week?
Speaker 3: What are we covering this week? A simple test you can do at home that can help predict when you will die.
Tom: Oh.
Speaker 3: Yeah, how about [00:05:00] that? Okay. I wrote here, “dinner time,” but I don’t remember why. Perhaps I was hungry. Oh, wait.
Tom: You remember?
Speaker 3: It’s the best time of day to eat dinner- Oh … for longevity. Okay. So they claim.
Tom: Hm.
Speaker 3: I’m sus as well.
Tom: Okay. Unless it’s 5:00 PM, I don’t wanna hear about it.
Speaker 3: Yeah. We will also, of course, tackle all the instructor and Peloton stuff we didn’t have time to get to in the main s- episode, including who’s working on a book again and still.
So that’s all waiting for you over in the Patreon. Uh, also don’t forget, you can try for free for seven days. You can go through and listen to a bunch. That’s right. And then you can bail. Yeah. That’s- If that’s what you wanna do … that’s the jam. Like, they’re there. Yeah. If you wanna bail. We already recorded them.
We like when people listen. We do. So, so go give that a shot if you want. Okay. And then also you can watch all of these over on YouTube. That don’t cost a dime except for the cost of your computer or [00:06:00] smartphone and internet provider. Other than that, it’s totally free. And, uh, sign up for the newsletter at theclipod.com where I’ll send you a mostly weekly newsletter with links.
Okay, thanks, bye. Let’s dig in, shall we?
Tom: We shall.
Speaker 6: Ugh.
Speaker 3: Everyone is concerned about their Peloton streak.
Tom: Yeah.
Speaker 3: The worst thing in the world is to lose a streak.
Tom: It is very upsetting. It is upsetting. There is
Speaker 3: nothing worse that could happen to a human being.
Tom: I mean, I feel like that’s probably not true.
Speaker 3: Financial ruin, don’t care. Loss of a loved one, I’ll love someone else.
Tom: Oh, wow. But
Speaker 3: not my Peloton streak.
Tom: Especially you. You work so hard at it.
Speaker 3: I do. I’m very diligent. [00:07:00]
Tom: Yeah, so this is, uh, this is actually a really big deal. It is. Because when Peloton announced that you could get your… You know, you were able to have your Peloton app pull in workouts from other apps, the assumption was it would also count for your blue dot.
Yeah. People just made that assumption. Sure. Peloton never said that.
Speaker 3: But if it’s supposed to integrate, then that’s, that’s integrated.
Tom: So, so there are people that literally lost three-year streaks because they trusted- Oh … that when they did a workout on their Garmin and it pulled into the Peloton ecosystem, they were like, “I’m good.”
Speaker 3: “I’m good. I did a jog.”
Tom: Turns out they weren’t good.
Speaker 3: You’re not good. And none of that works. None of that counted.
Tom: Right. So- Your
Speaker 3: muscles actually atrophied instead. The blue dot, the blurple dot- It’s
Tom: [00:08:00] It’s not real …
Speaker 3: has that sort of power
Tom: So now Peloton has included the streak counting. So now your activities from other fitness apps do count Garmin,
Speaker 3: Fitbit
Tom: Apple Health
Speaker 3: Sure
Tom: They do now.
Going forward-
Speaker 3: The Z- the Zune Health app
Tom: No. It’s just these. Don’t get crazy. Don’t start saying other things. Somebody’s gonna at us, I don’t wanna be at’d. Yeah. I mean, you can at me, but don’t yell at me.
Speaker 3: If you have a Zune, you don’t know how to at people.
Tom: That’s probably fair. Yeah. So this is a big deal, though.
It is. And people are like, “Okay, can they now reinstate my streak?” No. They’re not… They’re… I mean, you might get lucky, but I, I don’t think that they’re gonna do that. Try to
Speaker 3: make an appeal.
Tom: Yeah, I don’t, I don’t think that’s gonna happen. Yeah. So, so yeah. And, and I feel people about this, because I remember back in the day when I still used Android, [00:09:00] and we went on vacation, and everybody was like, “Oh, just preload your classes.”
Guess what? Android did not have preload- Yeah … available. It was a very sad moment when I realized that.
Speaker 3: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Hey, I lost, like, a four-year total streak when we were- I know … in Hawaii- I know … ’cause I lost track of the days- Yeah … ’cause it’s Hawaii. That’s
Tom: a little different. No, no, no, I mean,
Speaker 3: ultimately, that one’s- You had control
that one’s my fault. But I mean, I did lose a streak. You
Tom: did, and it was a very long streak. It was, like,
Speaker 3: a four-year streak. Yeah. Yeah. And it,
Tom: it, it is sad. Regardless of how it happens, it’s always sad. But in this particular case you know, people felt a little bit, like, misled. For
Speaker 3: sure.
Tom: So at any rate, it is corrected now, and going forward, other fitness apps that connect with Peloton will also count towards your streak.
Speaker 5: And you-
Tom: But I believe not milestones, only your streak.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Tom: It… So, so, like, if you’re doing walks, it’s not necessarily gonna count that towards your, your walks, number of walks. Okay. It’s going, it’s going to say, yes, you did [00:10:00] activity, but it’s not going to connect… it’s not going to be like, but now you’re on your 1,000th walk.
Speaker 5: Gotcha.
Tom: So you still wanna turn your… if that’s a thing for you-
Speaker 3: Yeah …
Tom: hit the Just Work Out button, because then it will.
Speaker 3: Gotcha. And you will learn to love again.
Tom: You will.
Speaker 3: It’s okay.
Tom: It, you will. Yeah. It just takes a little time.
Speaker 3: Yeah. The reviews are in on Pelotonic. Is that how you say that?
Tom: Uh, no. I believe it’s, uh, Peloton IQ.
Peloton
Speaker 3: EQ
Tom: I think it’s Peloton IQ
I’ll agree
Speaker 3: to disagree.
Tom: Okay. Well, so both Women’s Health and Fast Company reviewed Peloton IQ.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Tom: Uh, both of them came out well. Yeah. Uh, one of them, the, the line was, “Peloton’s new equipment uses AI to act like a built-in coach.” And they com- they compared it to what a real coach is.
So in other words, um, this is, this was all positive.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Tom: This was all [00:11:00] good validation. And of course, we also talked about a while back how Good Morning America did Peloton IQ right there on, on the stage. Mm-hmm. They, like, tested it out. It’s all coming back very positive.
Speaker 5: Right.
Tom: Um, the, the thing about it is I…
listen, I work at a company who we are constantly discussing AI.
Speaker 5: Right.
Tom: And it’s, it’s, um, really interesting to hear people’s takes in and outside of the company. Mm-hmm. But yesterday, I saw a comment that just disturbed me. They literally said to me, “What is Peloton IQ? I don’t wanna support AI.” And I was like, “Well, then read the article.”
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Tom: Like, I feel like- You should
Speaker 3: cut and paste the entire article as a comment.
Tom: I feel like people just… listen, there are problems with AI.
Speaker 5: Sure.
Tom: The I’m the first to say that. Yeah. But there are things that AI does that can be beneficial. Yeah. And I think that using it as a general [00:12:00] information point to help you as a coach, especially if you can’t afford coaching-
Speaker 3: Right
Tom: it’s a good data point.
Speaker 3: I would also say it’s growing so rapidly and infiltrating all these things that, like, you are using AI whether you want to or not. Yeah, you don’t realize- Like, if you don’t wanna s- … you’re using AI, but you’re using it … if you don’t wanna support AI, then never buy anything off Amazon again.
Tom: Yeah. Right? I mean, everything you do, whether it’s the doctor taking notes on AI- Yeah … during your consultation- Yeah, my doctor
Speaker 3: just did …
Tom: or whether it’s you’re talking to a chatbot that’s, guess what, using AI. Yeah. You’re using AI.
Speaker 5: Right.
Tom: And I don’t think that we should allow, as a society, AI to take over everything, but I- Agreed
but I do think that it is your social responsibility and your personal responsibility to yourself and your family to understand what it is-
Speaker 3: Yeah …
Tom: and how to use it that does work for you.
Speaker 3: Because it’s gonna come down to using [00:13:00] it responsibly- Mm-hmm … not I will never use it.
Tom: Exactly.
Speaker 3: Unless you’re a Mennonite
Tom: I mean, I’ll tell you what, it’s really interesting because this, this next generation that’s graduating college, that’s in college right now, they are really mad about AI.
Yeah. Because they perceive it as everyone taking their jobs. I would say the government is the one taking- Yeah … your jobs right now. Well, I will
Speaker 3: say, though, it’s gobbling up a lot of the entry-level jobs. It is. And I, and I do think businesses are gonna have a problem because it’s essentially like if, if a baseball team said, “We don’t need a minor league team anymore,” it’s like, that’s gonna be okay for a couple years.
Exactly.
Tom: It’s going to swing back in the other direction. Yeah. Because it has to. Right. There’s always something to replace it. Yeah. It just may not be what you anticipated, you know? Yeah. So I don’t blame people for being angry about it or upset about it, but I do think that regardless of where you stand on it, it’s, you’re, you’re missing out on opportunities- Yeah
of how it can help you. And, and even if you don’t wanna ever use it actively, [00:14:00] understanding how it works- Yeah … is still important.
Speaker 3: And knowing that, like, it’s running in the background of so many things at this point. Exactly. That like, you’re using it whether you want to or not. Now, conspiracy theory about these reviews.
Tom: Oh, okay. Do we have one? I do. Oh, okay. Okay. All right. Let’s hear it. AI is writing them. A lot of, a lot of these
Speaker 3: outlets use AI to write their articles. You ask an AI to write an article reviewing Peloton IQ, which is AI, I mean, of course it’s gonna tell you it’s good. There we go. All right. That’s my- All right
that’s my theory. It’s like the old Emo Phillips joke. “I used to think the brain was the most interesting organ in the human body, and then I thought, well, look what’s telling me that.”
Tom: I think that is a fair point. I will also say, as far as I can tell, these are still written by real people. Yeah. I- You know, I’m not saying they don’t have- Just being silly
AI assistance. Right. No, I know, but there are people out there that really do believe that- Yeah … and think that, and, and I’m, I’m just saying, I don’t believe that’s really happening [00:15:00] here. Yeah. I, I
Speaker 3: know. I was, I was being goofy.
Tom: I know you were. I just know not everybody out there listening-
Speaker 3: It’s the Sudafed and the energy drink
Tom: is just getting crazy. I
Speaker 3: warned you people. And if you’re still here, you agree to the terms and services. So there.
Tom: I think it’s terms and conditions, FYI. Also
Speaker 3: that. Quit yelling at my energy drink. Moving along. Peloton Rub- Run Club is hitting London and New York simultaneously. Although here I wrote on the same day, because I struggle to spell simultaneously.
Tom: Well, and there’s still a six-hour difference. Okay. So… Well, five hours from New York to London. Okay. But so I don’t really feel like- A
Speaker 3: truly simul- See, I, even when I’m trying- …
Tom: I’m
Speaker 3: accidentally correct. It’s really the only way I’m ever correct.
Tom: Uh, this one I’m, I think is a little bit different because this one is celebrating the Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Mm-hmm. And I don’t know that I’ve ever seen Aditi [00:16:00] Shah Do one of these. Um, she’s going to have a community moment with Heart of Dinner before the walk and run heads out into the neighborhood. So that is new and different. Uh, they also have four different groups. They have a sub 10-minute mile, a 10 to 12-minute mile, then they have a walk plus run, and then they have a walking.
So that is the New York one.
Speaker 3: Meanwhile, over in the UK.
Tom: Also, on May 27th, for Mental Health Awareness Month-
Speaker 5: Okay …
Tom: Ben Aldis is leading a free run and walk event. So we have two people we don’t typically see leading these events this month. And
Speaker 3: commemorating two different, like- Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. I guess I wonder if some of that comes down, is it possible that, like- The Asian and Pacific Islanders Month is like a US thing, and so that’s not happening.
Oh, in the same way Mother’s Day- Mm-hmm … is all-
Tom: It’s, it is possible. Uh, it, it also is possible that both celebrate, but they wanted to [00:17:00]celebrate two different events in two different places. Yeah. So it, either is possible. Gotcha. I have not done the research to find out which it is. So, but regardless, uh, that’s really fun for people who don’t get a chance to interact with instructors and can’t get into classes.
This is a different way- Yeah … to approach
Speaker 3: that. And if you got baller money-
Tom: Mm-hmm … because
Speaker 3: the time delay, you could do both, right? You could hop on the jet, like Phil Collins at Live Aid.
Tom: I don’t think that you could.
Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
Tom: Because it’s only five hours from New York to London. That’s true. Like a five-hour time change difference.
I think he
Speaker 3: did use the Concorde to pull that one off. Yeah,
Tom: I was like, I think- Which- I don’t… The Concorde doesn’t exist anymore, does it? No, it
Speaker 3: stopped running, I think, in like 2003. Mm. I don’t know why that’s in my head.
Tom: It’s hard to say.
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Tom: Who knows? Who knows?
Speaker 3: But we have been winding our way through the Airport film series.
Tom: Concorde is next, isn’t it? And the
Speaker 3: Concorde, we are on the fourth and final one. Okay. And we still need to watch Airport ’79: The Concorde. [00:18:00] Ooh.
Tom: That’s what they call it, huh? That’s
Speaker 3: what they call it. I’m
Tom: looking forward to it. I wanna see- Are you? … the inside of a Concorde.
Speaker 3: I w- I wonder if it even looks, if it’s real, you know what I mean?
Like- In
Tom: my mind, it will be. Yeah. It doesn’t matter. Like, did they try to
Speaker 3: make it look like an actual Concorde? The last one was a plane, and it had like a grand piano and a s- Yeah … spiral staircase. Although- It was,
Tom: it was crazy … although I
Speaker 3: think those did exist. They did. But-
Tom: And they, they probably realized pretty quickly that they could sell a lot more tickets by not.
Yes. But it was also a super fancy flight. For sure. That was part of like- Yeah … that was part of the deal.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Tom: So yeah. It was like not a private jet, but for rich people.
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Tom: Yeah. So all the amenities.
Speaker 3: I think what people love most about the Clip Out is when we decide to talk about 50-year-old disaster films.
Tom: I mean, it is very- It’s
Speaker 3: what they come here for. It is. Yeah. Yeah. So we have details- … on the next Lululemon member’s weekend.
Tom: We do.
It is taking place on [00:19:00] June 12th and 13th. Uh, that also happens to be the same weekend as the Tribeca Film Festival- Ah … in case anyone’s wondering. Yeah. Which is where Spinmores is going to be-
Speaker 3: Making its grand debut.
Tom: The debut actually is on June 9th. Okay. So it’s in the middle of the week- Sure … but, like, that whole weekend.
So here’s the deal with the members weekend. I did not realize this, but people who have a collective pinnacle status with Lululemon- Okay … get an opportunity to buy tickets before anybody else does. Ah. And then a second set of classes is supposed to drop at 6:00 PM the next day. So you get 24 hours- For
Speaker 3: the normies
the
Tom: normies.
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Tom: Although I never heard an update, but the 6:00 deadline came and went, and they had not dropped new classes according to comments on the Facebook.
Speaker 5: Gotcha.
Tom: I don’t follow any of this through- Right … Lululemon. Right. So I am going completely by third party. Yeah. However, we do have some [00:20:00] details about what was included, or what type of events are included.
There’s a kickoff party and a panel discussion that takes place at the Lululemon Soho store. It has a live panel discussion with ambassadors, with the Lululemon Peloton ambassadors.
Speaker 6: Okay.
Tom: Um, a DJ, refreshments, exclusive gear. Then through the weekend, there are live classes. These are each $35. The kickoff party and panel discussion was $50, by the way.
Okay. Uh, and then the classes will take place at the Peloton Studios New York. They will also be led by Peloton ambassadors and other Peloton instructors. You get a special shopping experience. You get $50, uh, to sh- y- you can get a personal shopping experience for $50. You can shop the Lululemon Soho store alongside the ambassadors.
You get a complimentary gift card, curated gear picks, and additional gifts.
Speaker 3: That sounds like a good deal. It sounds
Tom: really fun.
Speaker 3: Yeah, like, I mean, I’m not a Lululemon guy-
Tom: Yeah …
Speaker 3: [00:21:00] but, uh, but that sounds like a good deal. It does. If they had something like that for, like, nerd shirts- You
Tom: would be all over it … I’d be
Speaker 3: all about it.
Tom: Especially if the nerds were shopping with you. Oh my
Speaker 3: goodness. Do I get to pick my nerd? Right? Do I get, like, Kevin Smith? I mean- Do I get Joel Hodgson? Both.
Tom: What? I know. I
Speaker 3: can’t be hogging the nerds. There are other nerds there that also want some nerd love. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of
Tom: nerds to go around.
I’m trying to
Speaker 3: be-
Tom: There’s also gonna be that weekend a group run for $50. It’s a 5K with Hannah Frankson and Olivia Amato. It will include new gear- that’s a key in all of these things. Oh. And all paces are welcome. There’s also an outdoor run and core boot camp that Olivia Amato is teaching, and, uh, that’s also $50.
And then there’s a live DJ, Pilates, and yoga, which I’m kind of digging, because you don’t get a lot of DJ action in the c- in the Pilates and yoga.
Speaker 5: Right.
Tom: That class is gonna be taught by Johanna, uh, our newest Lululemon ambassador, which we’ll talk about later. Yes. Uh, and then you also get access to the [00:22:00] recovery lounge and the customization station, where you can get, uh, your gear personalized- Ah
usually with something specific to that weekend, making your clothing a, like- A memento … keepsake. Yeah. It’s really cool. So, um, that is what is in store. And I know we have a listener going- Mm-hmm … and they are going to be sending pictures- Oh … when that occurs. Thank you,
Speaker 3: anonymous listener.
Tom: We’ll give their name when it’s time.
Speaker 3: Yes, when they actually do it. Like, we’re not- Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We’ve been burned before. But we have learned to love
Tom: again.
Speaker 3: Peloton and Kira Michelle will be at the La- Love Shine Play Festival.
Tom: It takes place in Asheville, North Carolina, and it’s going to be held between July 23rd and July 26th. And, uh, Kira Michelle is going to be there. She’s gonna be teaching three different classes, so [00:23:00] not a lot of opportunities to work with Kira- Yeah … outside the studio. This is a great one.
Speaker 3: For sure.
Tom: Yeah, so that’s really cool. And Kira’s really excited about it- Yeah … which is fun. Yeah, she actually shared our article yesterday. Oh, nice. So you can tell when they’re excited- Right … when they’re like, “Ooh!” Yeah.
Speaker 3: Well, uh, coming up after this, we got instructors in the news. We will talk about what Cody Rigsby did to upset mothers of autistic children.
We will also talk about Tunde making her Sports Illustrated swimsuit debut, and Johanna and her new partnership. So join us, won’t you?
Speaker 3: cody Rigsby Sassy as he wants to be. But sometimes the sassiness upsets people.
Tom: I mean, yeah. And
Speaker 3: that’s where we’re at- We are … currently. We
Tom: are.
Speaker 3: He said delicately.
Tom: So apparently on April 24th, during a [00:24:00] 20-minute pop ride, Cody said, “I need you to be as confident as a parent’s parent who will put a leash on their child in public.
Okay. Do you understand the confidence that you need to have? You gotta be like, ‘Yeah, fuck it. I don’t care. This kid is driving me nuts. It’s going on a leash.’ Okay? Yeah, it has a cute monkey as a backpack to make it look not like a leash, but it’s still a leash.” And apparently I genuinely did not know- Same
that neurodivergent children-
Speaker 3: Or a certain subset …
Tom: yes, have been known to have used these devices to be attached to their parents in crazy settings so that they don’t lose their kid.
Speaker 6: Right.
Tom: Apparently it is one of the leading causes of death upon neurodivergent children is wandering away.
Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
Tom: And right after that is drowning, because when you wander away and you’re not able to say, this is a safe water- [00:25:00]
Speaker 3: Right …
Tom: or a not safe water. They
Speaker 3: probably don’t know how to swim.
Tom: Yeah.
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Tom: So all of that, or even if they do know how to swim, they may not reali- like, it may not be the right depth for them.
Right. You know. At any rate. So, uh, there was a woman who posted on Instagram, Autism Mama Magic, that she was very upset with Cody and demanding an apology, et cetera. Uh, the comments were kind of fascinating.
Speaker 3: Yeah. I’m sure this is a very polarizing topic.
Tom: Yeah. Which is weird. I can’t get it to pull up.
Okay, so I was going to read you guys the comments, but for whatever reason, this person turned the comments off, which I find fascinating. It’s
Speaker 3: hard not to read that as- This did not go the way she had planned
this was not going their way. But I will also say it was bringing in comments fast and furious, so if she’s not used to that sort of engagement, could also be overwhelming- Absolutely … to get that… I mean, I’ve seen what your phone does when you post a [00:26:00] hot story.
Tom: It, it, it’s true. Here’s, here’s- Or a
Speaker 3: really good selfie.
Tom: I wish. But the, uh, the deal here in the comments, I saw two comments, two types of comments. Right. I saw comments supporting this mother- Mm-hmm … and saying like, “Yuck, that’s gross. Cody shouldn’t have done that.” And then I saw other comments that were like, “He never mentioned neurodivergent children.”
Right. “He was not being specific to neurodi- diver- divergent children. And at most, he’s guilty of not knowing that-
Speaker 5: Right …
Tom: as opposed to targeting them.”
Speaker 5: Right.
Tom: So I don’t know why she turned off the comments, but I, my instinct is it could be because some of those comments outweighed the supportive comments.
Speaker 3: Sure.
Tom: And people can be cruel.
Speaker 3: Absolutely.
Tom: I’ve also seen that firsthand. So, um, yeah. I also
Speaker 3: wouldn’t be surprised if she was getting a lot of like, “Quit being woke.” That’s true. “You don’t have a sense of humor.” Well, and
Tom: when [00:27:00] you attack a Peloton instructor, even if you’re dead on correct-
Speaker 3: Yeah …
Tom: I mean, I’ve seen that happen too.
Right. You can still get your ass handed to you. Yeah. Even if every detail you have is correct. There are still people to this day that defend Daniel McKenna-
Speaker 3: Yeah …
Tom: and think that, that like Jen Cotter did something wrong in that whole situation. Or we’re just mad at you for
Speaker 3: just reporting that he was no longer- Oh.
So I’ve- I know. Yeah. I know. So,
Tom: it’s- So I don’t know what happened here. Yeah. But I, I- I will also
Speaker 3: say I don’t think that he meant it in that way or was probably aware either. Um- I
Tom: a- I agree. I, I like… Listen, Cody’s not my favorite person. I say that just to be like I’m not sticking up for somebody that I love.
I’m saying this in a, in a sense of I’m trying to be fair. Right. I genuinely… cody says a lot of polarizing things. I don’t feel like this was meant to be polarizing- No … other than kinda trashing the parents of children who do not have neurodivergent children. Right. I think he meant that. [00:28:00] Yeah.
I think that’s who he was focused on. And they exist. I’ve seen them.
Speaker 3: I will also say for the lady that posted this- Mm-hmm … his actual comment was, “Have the confidence of a parent who does this, and based on your reaction- You have the confidence … you have the confidence.” Yeah. So maybe taken holistically- It’s not as much of an insult as you initially thought
Tom: That is true
Speaker 3: Because you do have to have confidence to go out in the world and do that
Tom: And then turn off the comments
Speaker 3: Yes. On that note- Tunde wore a swimsuit
Tom: She did. Woo. Tunde. Like, I’m not into women, but if I were- … Tunde. I mean, I’m just being silly, but her, her, uh, her debut was very much the splash. Like, it is very, like- Well, it’s a swimsuit It’s very skimpy. Ah. It’s very skimpy.
Some of the swimsuits that she chose to wear for the-
Speaker 3: I mean, that’s kind of what- That is the [00:29:00] deal … that’s what the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated is all about I thought it was just
Tom: for the articles
Speaker 3: No, that’s Playboy Oh. No.
Tom: Okay. It’s just swimsuit. Right. Got it. You know, um, I, uh, I love the fact that Peloton dropped her brand-new-
Speaker 3: Apparel
apparel collection- Yeah … on
Tom: the same day that this dropped. That was smart. It was very smart. Absolutely And, uh, I also love that they have, for the first time ever, a swimsuit collection with Peloton. That’s nice. It’s- Timely … very timely.
Speaker 3: It’s like Law & Order, ripped from the headlines.
Tom: Well, you know, it’s like, um, I heard some people making some comments.
This was actually told to me thirdhand, but about, like, what is Peloton gonna do after the Tunde era’s over? And I was just like, the same thing they did when the Cody era was over, the same thing they did when… You know, I mean, the, these instructors are going to keep having moments like this.
Right But I don’t feel like- And
Speaker 3: Cody will have another moment, I have no doubt Yeah Like, and I don’t [00:30:00] mean, like, Cody’s done, but, like- God, no … Dancing With the Stars was, like, a huge moment for him. He’s not necessarily doing that level of stuff at the moment, but my guess is he will again at some point.
Who
Tom: knows what he’s got- Yeah … cooking in the background that we don’t know about yet? For sure Like, for all we know, he’s in another movie that’s coming out in six months. About to sign a
Speaker 3: Netflix deal. Who knows? Who knows?
Tom: I mean, but I, I just, I feel like it’s just this way of being like Peloton would be nothing without the instructors.
And, like, let me be clear, these instructors would also be nothing without Peloton. It is so, so much of it, it’s- It’s symbiotic It’s so symbiotic And
Speaker 3: we’ve seen it play out over and over again when an instructor thinks that they don’t need Peloton- Yeah … and they, they find out.
Tom: Oh. Whoops. Whoopsie-daisy So- Yeah
yeah.
Speaker 3: It, like, it’s a mutually beneficial relationship, make no mistake. And Peloton, especially going way back in time- Yeah … the Steven Little era. Oh, yeah Steven Little was kind of the only, like, big name at that- At the time … [00:31:00] at that moment in time He was very much a breakout And so when he left, there was a moment of like-
Tom: What’s gonna happen?
what’s
Speaker 3: gonna happen to Peloton without Steven Little? And I think that was a moment of- Reflection and introspection on the p-part of Peloton, and I think they made a concerted effort to make sure that they were never going to have one big instructor again, and they have succeeded in that. They have.
Right? Like, there are… You know, I mean, you hate to go through and rank them, but there are- Yeah, please don’t. But there are, there are tiers, right? And, but there are multiple people that are kinda like your top tier- Yeah … instructors. It’s like a sports team.
Tom: Well, and there are people that also have advantages because they’ve been around longer- For sure
and, you know. Absolutely. Yeah. But absolutely that’s true, and there are also instructors who just enjoy the limelight more. Yeah. You know? The, it’s, it’s not that they don’t wanna be instructors, it’s not that they don’t wanna be out there teaching, but they don’t necessarily… It’s a hustle. Like, people- Yes
it, I- To sell this shit and go out and get these deals- it’s a [00:32:00] lot … you’re moving your ass all- Yeah … the time. And, like, some people really dig that- Mm-hmm … and really, like, get lit up from within. Right. And then other people are exhausted by it. They just wanna
Speaker 3: teach their classes, and that’s good. Yeah.
They’re good with that.
Tom: And that’s, that’s kinda the beauty of Peloton. Yeah. You’ve got all types. For sure. And, and I feel like, to your point, that is what they’re doing. Mm-hmm. They’ve always been very careful to keep a very wide variety of instructors.
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Tom: And every once in a while, they get a real snotty diva.
Mm-hmm. You know? And then they
Speaker 3: leave. And there’s no way you’re not gonna scoop one of those in every once in a while.
Tom: Right.
Speaker 3: Yeah. And if Tunde were to move on, like, Peloton would be fine. And I don’t mean any shade towards Tunde. I know you don’t. Like, but it’s like they’ve built it in such a way that they’re not-
Tom: But Tunde-
dependent on
Speaker 3: one
Tom: instructor … if Tunde were to move on, she’s also classy.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Tom: And she wouldn’t be stupid and burn all her bridges- Yeah … because she’s, she’s classy and savvy. Yeah. And I genuinely believe loves her fellow instructors- Yeah … and, and the people that she works with. Yes. So she would [00:33:00] never do that.
Yes.
Speaker 3: Yes. I was speaking entirely hypothetically. Remember, I’m the guy who doesn’t know anything about this stuff. Okay. Yeah.
Tom: I just felt it needed to be said. For sure. Yeah.
Speaker 3: Uh, Johanna has become the next Lululemon ambassador.
Tom: Yeah. I, I feel like this was just such weird timing because there was recently an event it’s been a couple months, like March.
I think it was March. And, uh, it was out in LA.
Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
Tom: And Olivia Amato was named the newest global ambassador. It was her first appearance.
Speaker 5: Right.
Tom: Well, Jo- Johanna was there. Yeah. So it’s almost like she was already a Lululemon ambassador, but now she’s Peloton’s Lululemon ambassador. Yeah. It was like a
Speaker 3: job interview.
Tom: I, I just, I think she was already their, their thing, ’cause- Yeah … she was there doing all the things. Right. So I think- I think it’s like a separate deal- Yeah … that they have to get through the Peloton list of ambassadors. That’s, that is how I see it. Sure.
Speaker 5: Uh,
Tom: I feel [00:34:00] like it’s kind of fascinating. Those machinations just always- Yeah
fascinate me. There’s always so much going on underneath, behind the scenes, that people have no idea about. And even though I like to look and peek, and I still have no idea. You know? Right. Like, I, I have, like, maybe a little more insight than the average person who doesn’t consume this day in and day out, but still.
But
Speaker 3: you still got nothing. Yeah. Ultimately.
Tom: So that’s just my guess. I have a feeling she already had a deal, but then when she became a Peloton instructor, they had to restructure that deal- Yeah … and officially announce her as a Peloton Lululemon-
Speaker 3: Gotcha … ambassador.
Tom: That
Speaker 3: makes sense.
Tom: But congrats to Johanna.
Speaker 3: Absolutely.
Tom: Very cool.
Speaker 3: Uh, John Hosking returning to PSNY.
Tom: Yes. I it’s like I had kind of forgotten about this secret. But when I, uh- It’s the
Speaker 3: easiest way to keep ’em. It
Tom: is. It is. But whenever I was filming for At the Next Table, uh, there was just this little stray line of dialogue of, “When you’re back in June to film that other thing.”
Yeah. And I was like, [00:35:00] “Film what? What are we filming?” I never got an answer to that. Yes. So I don’t know. They know better than to tell me things like that. Although Peloton, I signed an NDA. If you wanted me to sign an NDA about this, I would have. Yeah. And I would’ve kept it secret. But at any rate, John Hosking is back in June.
He’s gonna be here for, uh, several days. He’s going to be doing several live classes. There was a whole thing because on Thursday his classes were supposed to go live at noon Eastern. They did not go live at noon Eastern. Uh-oh. They went live at 12:27 PM. Now, you would think that’s pretty close.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Tom: No, it was not close, and people were pissed.
Yeah. Because you sit there and you refresh, and refresh, and refresh, and then you turn your head for one second, and then they appear, and they were gone. Yeah. All of ’em were gone. It was so fast. I know one person that got on the wait list. One. Yikes. I, I’m not saying… I mean, obviously other people got in.
Right, ’cause it’s a wait list, yeah. But I mean, just the comments that, that, that- Yeah … I saw, there was only one person in our little ecosphere that [00:36:00] got in.
Speaker 3: Katie Wong visited the Purina Cat Chow Therapod. I have no idea what this means.
Tom: I’m gonna tell you. Listen- Please do … you need to know, first of all, that Katie is very much a cat mom.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Tom: She has a cat named Ma’am, and that cat is so full of personality. I love Katie’s cat. Ma’am will not cuddle with her. It’s like, “No. You can pet me.” Mm-hmm. “You can look at me. You can gaze adoringly from far away.” Right. “You can even sit next to me, but if you try to hold me, there could be words.”
And has the looks that ma’am gives. Priceless. Okay, so having said all of that Purina reached out to Katie and was like, “You know, you should come to our new thing.” Which was smart. So this partnership, because that’s basically what it is-
Speaker 6: Yeah …
Tom: is around cats as therapy project that Purina [00:37:00] has, and it’s a collaboration of this Therapod.
It’s a one-of-a-kind activation- Oh … your favorite word-
Speaker 3: Activation …
Tom: uh, that brought the healing power of feline companionship directly to college students during one of the most stressful periods of the academic year.
Speaker 3: Oh, we need to get Brian into one of those.
Tom: I- he’d never leave.
Speaker 3: Yeah, that’s true. We need to hide this from Brian.
Tom: Brian would just live there.
Speaker 3: Yes.
Tom: We… They’d have to, like- He’s
Speaker 3: like, “I’m gonna be a grad stu- student- … so I can stay in this Therapod.”
Tom: It’s nice though. The idea is that it’s low-tech. You leave your phone at the door. You don’t bring anything in. You go in 10 minutes, and you spend time with a certified therapy cat.
It was originally debuted in October of 2025 in honor of World Mental Health Day. It made stops near NYU, Fordham, and uh, they decided this year to bring it back as a full national tour. The, it kicked off in New York- Mm … at NYU near Washington Square Park, but it’s also going to DePaul University in Chicago and UCLA [00:38:00] in Los Angeles.
And, uh, yes, there is real science behind having cat therapy and holding a cat. It lowers your cortisol, it’s been known, and uh, it’s, it relaxes you. So that’s kind of fun for Mental Health Month, but it’s very fitting for Katie. I just love everything about this. Like, it’s animals, Peloton instructor. What’s not to love?
What’s not to love?
Speaker 3: I will say, I remember Brian’s school talking about in, during finals, they bring in dogs- Yes … for people to pet.
Tom: Yes. I’m guessing because it’s Brian, he never take, partakes.
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, he likes dogs. Oh, he likes dogs. He likes our dog, but it’s cats. I just meant
Tom: It’s not his typical routine.
Yes. Therefore, he wouldn’t do it because it… Unless somebody else was like, “Brian, we should go do this right now,” he wouldn’t do it because it’s not on his list of things that he does every day. That tracks. Yeah. That’s why I say that.
Speaker 3: It is that time of year again. Time for The TCO Peloton Superlatives
Tom: Oh my God, I love this. This is my favorite article of the year. [00:39:00] And, uh, it’s so funny. All of us love it so much that Nikki’s had this done for days. But none of us wanted to read it until it was posted. We all waited until it posted.
That’s how excited we were about it. Some of my favorites this year, I, I’m gonna try to, I’m gonna try to just do a couple.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Tom: Let’s see. The best, most likely to be distant cousins, Alex Kar- Karwoski and Zac- Zacharias Najetski. We’re not saying they are, but we’re not not saying it either. What we’re saying is that comparing your ancestry might be an in- a worthy endeavor, sirs, because the resemblance is definitely there.
The facial structure alone is doing some heavy lifting. Let’s just say the copy and paste vibes are strong with this one, these two.
Speaker 3: Okay, yeah.
Tom: You can totally see it, right?
Speaker 3: And they could get a 23andMe partnership.
Tom: They could. They could. Who got best thirst trap this year? Adrian Williams. Now, he’s always- That tracks
a strong contender. Sure. Don’t get me [00:40:00] wrong. But, uh, he had some very well-timed reels. Uh, there was one about hydration, then there was the Hudson Williams campaign, and then there was the slow motion shirt removal in the Lululemon ad. And of course, Nikki did embed the Lululemon ad, so you can see it in slow motion.
Sure. You need to have that. Most likely to star in a rom-com. This is the last one I’m gonna do.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Tom: Jon Huskey. Hollywood looks and Hollywood looks and a cheeky sense of humor wrapped in a down-to-earth personality. Come on. Huskey’s got major rom-com vibes. With chiseled features and good guy energy, last year’s best boyfriend winner looks like he’s just waiting to be cast in a Hallmark movie where he’ll deliver a breathless three-minute monologue about his feelings while standing in a torrential downpour, looking unfairly attractive despite being soaked to the bone.
Or he could be the big city guy who moves to a small town to run a failing bookstore, only to find himself participating in a quirky local [00:41:00] festival- … involving a lot of knitwear and a goat probably. Whether he’s just looking for a book on travel or giving a pep talk to a golden retriever in a local park, Jon is one slow motion montage away from being a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
I mean, this is gold. This is gold, people. You need to read this.
Speaker 3: Well, it’s all over at the clipout. Or if you sign up for our newsletter, it will get emailed directly to you on Monday, so you should do that. Coming up after this, we’re gonna talk content. So many classes to choose from. We will help you make those choices, so stick around.
Speaker 3: it is time for the TCO Top Five. Up first, your favorite Peloton class ride.
Tom: Okay, so this was a two-for-one Country Happy Hour ride with Hannah Franson and Dennis Morton.
It had three different nominations, [00:42:00] and that was just on Monday. More came in on Tuesday. Um, my favorite one was, “Hannah and Dennis two-for-one Happy Hour ride. Their banter made the class fly by. It was a great mix of newer and older country. I’m a ’90s country for life, which Dennis has great rides of. I even hearted a new song, ‘Drag Queen.’
And as a bonus, Sam Yo was in the class.” Mindy Jensen gave that review, and I love it.
Speaker 3: Uh, number two it’s a strength class.
Tom: It is, and it’s taught by Robin Arzon, a 30-minute upper body strength from May 1st. And Katie S- Almaguer Stone nominated this class saying that it was, “Such a good workout, and the 30 minutes flew by.”
Speaker 3: Uh, number three, a cycling climb.
Tom: This was taught by Camila Ramon, and it was a Rolling Hills ride. You don’t get a lot of people asking for Rolling Hills ride. Mm-hmm. Like, like nominating them as their favorite classes. Right. Like, people love the intensity of them, but they’re- Yeah … not, like they never look [00:43:00] back on it and go, “That was great.”
However, Catherine Kimes did. She said, “I don’t end up taking Camila’s rides very often, but I took her Rolling Hills ride and boy did I get a good workout.” Love that. Yeah. That was taught on 5/17, if you’re wondering.
Speaker 3: Up next, number four, a theme ride.
Tom: Yes, this was taught by Sam Yo on May 2nd. It was his 30-minute ’80s ride.
We’ve seen this a couple of times because it was so good. It Deborah Anzalone said that, “It was so much fun. Loved the playlist. He’s amazing.”
Speaker 3: What more can you say?
Tom: I mean, he is amazing.
Speaker 3: And then finally, number five, your unstackable. It is a power zone ride.
Tom: It is. This was taught by Matt Wilpers on April 18th.
It was a 60-minute power zone ride. And Robin Luthi had to say that, “This was the most challenging with two eight-minute zone four intervals,” and she hit a PR. Well, good for her. Eight-minute zone four? What? [00:44:00] Ouch.
Speaker 3: I don’t know what that means, but I think- Well, there’s- … I’m happy I don’t.
Tom: Yeah. You’re right.
Speaker 3: Just a reminder that it is,
Tom: jewish American Heritage Month. Yeah, I
Speaker 3: knew I was forgetting a word. Yeah. Jewish American Heritage Month. Yeah.
Tom: I love
Speaker 3: all the Jews, regardless of their nationalities.
Tom: I agree. Yes. The latest class with that is going to be with Maddie, and it’s going to be on demand. It’s gonna be a walk plus run, and it’s a 20-minute a 20-minute walk plus run. There have been a few classes for the – Jewish American Heritage Month.
I believe there were four new ones- Okay … that dropped this year. So make sure you don’t miss out on those. It’s nice that Peloton is inclusive. Yeah. And we love to see it.
Speaker 3: It is also Mumford & Sons Month.
Tom: It… Well, it is, because, you know, Peloton used to do a new Artist Series every week, and now we, we were at two.
Yeah. Now it seems like we’re at one. I don’t know what’s happening. Yeah. I think- I think they just
Speaker 3: ran out of artists. Maybe. They were doing, [00:45:00] they were doing so many so fast for so long, they’re officially out. They’re like, “What do we got left?” They’re like, “Uh, Bing Crosby-
Tom: And Mumford & Sons … and
Speaker 3: Al Jolson.”
That’s it.
Tom: Well, on May 21st, we’re going to see several classes, uh, for Mumford & Sons, and I’m assuming they have a new album out.
Speaker 5: I- I think so … ‘
Tom: cause we saw them on, what, Saturday Night Live?
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Tom: They look totally different.
Speaker 3: Yeah, they look- They’re no
Tom: longer hipsters. What happened? Well, I mean, they’re hipsters.
They don’t look like traditional hipsters.
Speaker 3: Now they’re middle-aged hipsters- I guess so … instead of young hipsters. There
Tom: you
Speaker 3: go. Yeah. It happens to the best of us. It
Tom: does.
Speaker 3: I used to be a young nerd.
Tom: Now you’re a middle-aged nerd. Now, now I’m an
Speaker 3: elderly nerd.
Tom: You’re not elderly.
Speaker 3: Uh, Benny Adami and Camila Ramon adapted a tread playlist.
Tom: Yeah, this was, this is just fun. Kamila did a playlist. Bennie loved the playlist. Uh-huh. But Kamila had done it for the tread. Mm-hmm. And so Bennie redid the trai- the playlist with Kamila so that it was specific to the [00:46:00] bike and how you would structure a bike class.
Speaker 6: Gotcha.
Tom: I just love this. Yeah.
And I also… I love the collaboration. I’m all about teamwork. I can just hear Nikki rolling her eyes at me because I say that, like, every week.
Speaker 6: Yeah. “
Tom: Oh my God, the teamwork.” And I also just love that it’s, like, a new way for instructors to bounce things off of each other. Right. I think that’s really smart, and it’s also a fun way to bring a highlight to instructors that don’t always get highlighted, right?
Yeah. The German instructors just- Mm-hmm … don’t get as much notice as they should because- For sure … they’re just, they’re quieter, they’re not as front and center. Well, and
Speaker 3: a lot of times they’re teaching in German. That’s true. And so if you don’t speak German, you’re probably not even considering it.
Tom: So I love that, you know, Kamila and Bennie posting about it is just… it’s also bringing awareness in that way, too. So, like, it’s checking all the boxes. Yes. I love it.
Speaker 3: Uh, British Summer Fest has returned.
Tom: Yeah. And so this is another one of those Move as One [00:47:00] class that London does. It’s going to be taking place on May 30th, and we’ve got Bradley Rose, Susie Chan, Hannah Frankson, Ben Aldis, and John Hosking.
It will be… The booking opened on May 14th, but the class is on May 30th, and it’s gonna be a 45-minute class. So there’s also more, more festival programming already on the schedule. We’ll talk about that in an upcoming episode.
Speaker 3: Okay. Uh, Peloton is celebrating Father’s Day. Don’t worry, for our non-German listeners, you haven’t missed it.
You’re not in trouble, unless you’re in Germany. Then be prepared.
Tom: Yes. Mila Lazar taught a Father’s Day class for Germany, and it was on… It was this past weekend. Gotcha. So, I didn’t realize that not only is Mother’s Day different in the UK, but so is Father’s Day in Germany. There’s so much to learn.
Yeah. So much to learn. I feel like the stupidest American ever, you know? I- I just
Speaker 3: never thought about- I didn’t either … just thought it was [00:48:00] like everybody did it the same time. I know. That’s-
Tom: That’s very American of us. That’s what I’m saying … like Christmas or
Speaker 3: Easter. I mean, I know these aren’t religious based, but- Right
but yeah. I, uh… Do, we remember, did Germany have Mother’s Day last…?
Tom: I thought it was with ours. That’s what we decided. It was- Okay. Yeah … it was, it- You’re right … it matched ours- Yeah … and so did Australia, uh, ’cause Roz ended up sending me a note confirming- Yeah … Australia does, does- Okay … celebrate Mother’s Day on the same day as the US.
Speaker 3: See, they should do them back to back. It should be like- … Mother’s Day in, like, the second Sunday of May, and then Father’s Day the second or the third Sunday in May. And that way if- Dad screws up Mother’s Day she’s got time to return her gift for him. I got it all planned out.
Tom: Yeah, I wonder why you’re so planning ahead about this.
Speaker 3: I don’t know. Puts pressure on the guy to get it right.
Tom: That’s true. That’s true. I’m,
Speaker 3: I’m sticking [00:49:00] up for you.
Tom: Plus, then it would… both holidays would be celebrated in school, so everybody could get- Yeah … a gift. ‘Cause I will say, dads do get a short shrift.
Speaker 3: Dads never get a macaroni craft work.
Tom: Yeah. Well, I will also, on the opposite side of that, say yeah, and us summer birthdays didn’t get celebrated in school either.
Get over it, man.
Speaker 3: That’s true.
Tom: So, yeah. Live out in the middle of nowhere, nobody gives a shit about your birthday.
Speaker 3: Uh, Robin Arzon’s Yellow Challenge is live.
Tom: It is. It is live. It became a collection when it- when the collection launched, it had 72 past classes you could choose from. I, uh, went to go do a 30-minute ride, and somehow accidentally clicked on a 45-minute HIIT and hills.
Whoops. Whoops indeed. I was like, “I feel like I’ve been doing this for a while.” And I was like, “Wait a minute. How do I have 31 minutes left?” And I was like, “Oh, no.”
Speaker 3: But now you’re in.
Tom: I, yeah, I had to finish. Yeah. It’s just what you do. [00:50:00] But I’m, I don’t know why I’m kind of into this challenge. Yeah. Like, it’s, like, twice a week, really hard class, but then you’re done.
Yeah. You know? And I, I kind of am digging it. Anyway, she’s also teaching new classes for this. And one of our listeners heard me talking, um, when we did the last episode and I was like, “Do the different shades of yellow matter?” Do they
Speaker 3: signify anything? Yeah.
Tom: They are going to ask Robin.
Speaker 3: Okay.
Tom: So they’re going to be going to a live class soon.
They are going to ask Robin this question. I’m hoping we get- They will report back. Yes. Yes. I’m hoping. This is good intel. It is. Yes. Yeah.
Speaker 3: We have a Peloton strength class featuring Sophie Tucker.
Tom: We do, yeah. Or SoFi
Speaker 3: Tucker. No, it’s
Tom: Sophie.
Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
Tom: Uh, so there was a whole thing happening a Spotify event. DJ John Michael was there. Rebecca Kennedy was there, and so was Sophie Tucker. As part of that event, they also announced there would be this class coming up, and it is going to be on the Peloton platform, but it’ll also be on the Spotify, Spotify platform.
So [00:51:00] it’s hitting all the places.
Speaker 5: Gotcha.
Tom: Uh, I love this, and I have a feeling we’re gonna be seeing more of this. And this, maybe this is why we’re not seeing Artist Series. Like, maybe this is gonna look different going forward.
Speaker 3: Oh, perhaps. I don’t know. This could be their new music integration. It
Tom: could be.
Speaker 3: Yeah. Christian Vanderbilt’s next Real Route class confirmed.
Tom: It is the Blue Ridge Parkway that is coming up next, and that is gonna be taught on May 31st.
Speaker 3: Set your calendars. And then, uh, finally, Jess King, uh, has a ride celebrating 30 years of the Electric Daisy Carnival.
Tom: Yeah, apparently this is a big electronic, like an E- EDM… I’m sorry, EDC.
Uh, and it is… it’s been taking place in Las Vegas for 30 years. So it’s kind of fun. They’re doing a ride to celebrate- Yeah … 30 years of this particular festival. So that is coming up, and, uh, that’s fun. And also, we had mentioned Electric Daisy Carnival, but we didn’t understand that it was- What it was.
Yeah. Yeah. So [00:52:00] that was a couple weeks ago, so. Now
Speaker 3: we know. Now we know. And when they do the 31st, we will have forgotten, and we will do this all over again. We can
Tom: start it all over again. Yes. Yeah. But that was from May 8th, if you’re wondering.
Speaker 3: and we have two birthdays, uh, this week.
Coming up on May 22nd, Christian Van de Velde, and then May 27th is Benny Adami. So happy birthday to both of them.
Tom: Happy birthday.
