 Bio

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Alex Toussaint’s path to Peloton wasn’t a straight line. He grew up navigating a turbulent childhood and was sent to military school by his father, an experience he credits with planting the discipline and self-belief he now channels into every class. He started his fitness career mopping floors at a gym before landing a teaching role at Flywheel Sports in 2013. Peloton recruited him in 2015, and he’s been one of the platform’s most recognizable cycling and tread instructors since, known for his mantra “feel good, look good, do better.”

Toussaint marked his 10-year Peloversary in 2025, celebrated with a Greatest Hits Collection of 100 classes spanning cycling, tread, and outdoor content. Beyond the platform, he founded the Do Better Foundation in 2020 to expand access to fitness resources in underserved communities, published his book Activate Your Greatness in 2023, and has built a growing partnership portfolio that includes Puma (a cycling shoe collaboration), Wellness Pet Company, Adobe Acrobat, and Philips Sonicare.

Toussaint has also built a reputation as one of Peloton’s most vocal defenders, an instructor whose energy on the bike carries over into how he protects the brand off it. In July 2026, he publicly called out former Peloton instructor Daniel McKenna in the comments of a viral Instagram exchange, telling McKenna he’d been given a platform and “did nothing with it but try and destroy it.” It wasn’t the first time: in June 2025, he confronted a different former instructor, Jennifer Jacobs, live and mid-class after she teased a comeback that turned out to be an ad for a competing fitness app, telling his live class “I love you. But watch your f**king mouth.” Both moments point to the same pattern, Alex treats any perceived shot at Peloton as something worth answering directly and immediately.
