How a World Cup Dream Came True for Camila Ramón and Her Dad

Peloton instructor Camila Ramón has built her career on bringing energy, culture, and heart to every class she teaches, so it should come as no surprise that one of her most talked about moments this month happened at a World Cup match. If you’re not familiar with her, Camila is a Peloton cycling and Tread, instructor who was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and grew up in Miami. She made history as Peloton’s first instructor to teach fully bilingual classes in both English and Spanish, and she has built a devoted community known as the #MilaMafia along the way.

A World Cup Dream Come True

Camila shared the moment in a joint Instagram post with WhatsApp, writing that she got a call from the app letting her know they wanted to make sure her dad got to see Argentina play in person during this year’s World Cup semi-finals. She called it a dream come true, and it’s easy to see why. Camila has always been open about how central family is to who she is, both on the leaderboard and off it, and watching her make that kind of memory with her dad struck a chord with members who feel like they know her from years of classes together.

The post was exuberant and picked up thousands of likes quickly. Fellow Peloton instructor Emma Lovewell jumped into the comments to call the moment “insane, and perfect”, while Hannah Corbin called it “Incredible!”. That kind of instructor to instructor support is part of what makes the Peloton community feel like a family of its own, and it clearly resonated with everyone scrolling their feed that day.

Attending this game followed her recent Soccer Spectacular ride, a fan favorite and a clue to how important soccer is in her world and to her family.

Why This World Cup Story Matters to the Peloton Community

Camila teaches on both the Bike and the Tread at Peloton, and moments like this offer a glimpse of her life outside the studio. It’s also a reminder of the kind of following she has built, one that draws attention from brands well beyond fitness. It makes perfect sense that she would partner with a company tied to family and staying connected, something that is so important to her.

Sadly, Argentina lost in the final, but for Camila’s dad, the trip itself already sounds like the win. Sports fans know that sometimes the scoreboard isn’t the whole story, and this is one of those times. A father getting to watch his home country compete on the world’s biggest stage, alongside his daughter, is the kind of memory that outlasts any final score.

About the Author: Liz Nikol (#JustAskForHelp)

My daily therapy is provided by Peloton and I truly believe that movement is medicine. I don't discriminate - bike, tread, yoga, strength, pilates and a ton of meditation. By day, I am a psychotherapist and director of a large counseling center in NJ. I am particularly passionate about women's mental health, especially in midlife. By night, I am a mom to 2 dachshunds and a scruffy mutt and wife to a chiropractor that keeps us all moving (yes, that includes the dogs!). Besides Peloton, I am obsessed with hard rock (think Octane on Sirius), Law and Order everything and a good thriller. Find me on the Peloton leaderboard at #JustAskForHelp.
