Why you loved them!

Sometimes it’s hard to pick just one favorite, but these reviews make it easy! Here’s what the TCO Community had to say about their favorite classes from the last week.

1. Favorite Peloton Ride

03/03/2024 30 min Epic Sing-Along Ride with Jenn Sherman

So many of you mentioned this class – it was very, very loved!  Nancy Nilson #PackersFan said “The only problem with this ride is that it wasn’t longer.  Several instructors (Kendall, Rebecca, Andy, Kirsten and Dennis ) were in the class as well.  The energy was great and it was so much fun to sing along with at home as it was all the ballads you love to sing your heart out to!  Don’t miss this class if you want to sing and smile!”

Nancy – we agree!  Seeing so many instructors in the room is such a bonus!   And who doesn’t love to sing along to songs like “If I Could Turn Back Time” by Cher, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler (and very timely with a solar Eclipse coming up in early April!), “Keep on Loving You” by REO Speedwagon, and the heart wrenching “The Rose” by Bette Midler.  For those of us who grew up in the 80’s, or for anyone who loves these classic tunes, this ride is 30 minutes of emotion and fun, and Nancy and others who requested another half hour are right – we could have easily sung our way through to an hour of riding!

2. Favorite Peloton Walk

02/27/24 20 min Country Pop Walk with Matty

Diana Williams Rosas found this class so inspiring, she said it was “going to Chuuuuuuuuuurch” (that’s a lot of church!).  She said she just wanted to scream “Hallelujah” to the uplifting playlist!

In addition to a warm up to “Life’s About to Get Good” by Shania Twain, and a cool down to “something better’s coming” by LeAnn Rimes, the main 16 minutes of work in this class included progressive walking and power walking, and included songs like “I Hope You Dance” sung by Keisha Renee from “The Voice” and “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” by Dolly Parton –  inspiring voices for sure!

3. Favorite Peloton Outdoor Run

11/6/23 30 minute NYC 5 Boro Run:  Brooklyn with Jess King

Katrina Noplos enjoyed this run, especially since she’s training for the New York City Marathon!  (What better way to get a head start on the landscape of the race, which, as Jess pointed out, is the biggest marathon in the country!)

This run celebrates the music and unique culture of Brooklyn.  It includes 25 minutes of running.  The playlist is fun and gives a nod to some of our favorite artists who have called Brooklyn home or celebrated Brooklyn, including Barry Manilow (Copa Cabana),  the Beastie Boys (No Sleep Till Brooklyn), LCD Soundsystem (Daft Punk is Playing at My House) and a classic rock song by Pat Benatar (Invincible).

Jess encouraged running with a purpose but also “like you want to party” and referred to Brooklyn as the “epi-center of cool” – which is how you will look when you’re running down the road jamming to this run, for sure!

4. Favorite Peloton Strength Class

11/10/23 20 min Disco Pilates with Kristin McGee

Kari Kopidlansky Gormley said that this class “really worked the core, has a great play list and had a fun way to end class.”  We’re not giving away the ending – but check out the playlist and consider the possibilities- or better yet, take the class and find out!

This class included the use of a yoga block as well, which always adds a challenge (you could also use a ball or book if you don’t have a block handy).  This class had all of our favorite pilates moves, like the double leg stretch and straight leg stretch,  and adding the block definitely made it effective (try a side plank with a block between your legs – the disco music was clearly there to distract from the pain).

This class included a lot of upbeat, fun disco songs, of course!  This is twenty minutes of core and it definitely delivered results!    Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry, September by Earth, Wind & Fire, and Y.M.C.A. by the Village People were a few of the great hits that kept us moving and grooving while burning our legs out.

5. Favorite Unstackable Peloton Ride

02/15/24 30 minute Tabata Ride with Hannah Frankson

Sometimes we want a class that leaves us in a puddle and washes all hope of a stack of extra classes away with it. We call those classes Unstackable, and we love hearing about our listeners’ Unstackable experiences.

For this week’s Unstackable recommendation, we heard from Sonya Norman, who loved the class and its results but also felt a little duped!  When she started the class, Sonya thought this was a twenty-minute class, but she realized when Hannah was describing the layout of the class that it was actually thirty minutes – however, she was glad she stuck it out and finished, because she felt a great sense of accomplishment afterwards!

Sonya said the class included four sets of intervals – the first had 60/30 length intervals, the second 30/15, and two sets had 20/10 intervals, and the longest recovery between sets was only about a minute and a half.  Sonya said that Hannah was very motivating and that she was “probably also charming and funny, and the playlist was probably great,” but she doesn’t remember any of that, due to the fact that her legs and lungs were burning the whole time.  That definitely sounds unstackable!

Thank you!
