Rumor Has It: Are Guide-Like Features Coming To Peloton Bike+ and Tread+?

After seeing a flurry of excited posts and screenshots across the Peloverse today, it’s come to our attention that Peloton may be in the process of testing guide-like features on Bike+ and Tread+ models.

Here’s What We Know

Earlier today, a handful of Members who logged in for various strength split programs on their Tread+ or Bike+ were greeted with a new layout that featured a window on the left side of the screen providing a roadmap, so to speak, for the class.

At the bottom of the screen, where one might typically see their calculated heart rate or estimated calories burned, Members instead had a bar that provided info regarding Strive Score, heart rate and calories burned, but also provided information about weight, untracked exercise, volume and total reps.  That looks pretty guide-like to us!

We’ve also been told that, at some point in the last year, Peloton asked a focus group of Members if they would be interested in seeing a guide-like feature come to the Bike+.

About That Camera….

It’s a frequently asked question in the Official Peloton Member Facebook page, with Members wondering about that camera that does nothing on that Bike (or Tread) that goes nowhere.  Longtime Members know that, at one point, it provided the option to video chat with friends while working out.  However, in June of 2022, Peloton announced that they would be removing that feature to focus on the creation of something new.  In a reply to one such poster in the group, Peloton said, “We’re removing the video call feature so we can focus on introducing innovative new features.”

While we have no official confirmation of this beta test from Peloton, this sure does seem like a good use of that camera to us.  What say you, TCO listeners?  Would you be excited to see something like rolled out to the membership-at-large?
