Alex Toussaint leads a Peloton run class affected by Peloton music licensing changes

Peloton Music Licensing: Pulls Lil Jon Run

Last Updated: May 25, 2026By Tags: ,

The class disappeared over the weekend and came back modified. Is this Peloton’s new approach to music swaps?

A Peloton music licensing situation appears to be behind the weekend disappearance of Alex Toussaint’s Club Bangers Featuring Lil Jon run class. The class, which originally aired on March 14, 2025, vanished from the platform Saturday and returned Monday with a disclaimer members had never seen before.

The Class Disappeared — Then Returned With a Warning

Before the class went missing entirely, members had already noticed something was off. Several reported that songs in the Lil Jon run had been swapped out, replaced by tracks they did not recognize.

The prevailing theory on r/OnePelotonRealSub was Peloton music licensing. It seemed plausible. But members also noted that a Lil Jon cycling class from an earlier time frame was still up and appeared to have the original music intact, which complicated the licensing explanation.

Then the run class came back. When members launched it, they were greeted with a screen that read: “VIBE CHECK! THIS CLASS HAS BEEN MODIFIED FROM ITS ORIGINAL 30-MINUTE FORMAT. NO EXCUSES, JUST ADJUSTMENTS. LET’S GET TO WORK!”

What the Disclaimer Signals

That notice raises a straightforward question: did Peloton temporarily pull the class specifically to add that disclaimer, rather than to swap out music? And if so, is this the beginning of a new practice, where Peloton proactively flags to members when a class has been altered from its original format?

If that is the direction Peloton is heading, it would be a meaningful shift in transparency. Members have long complained about discovering mid-class that songs had changed with no warning. A disclaimer at launch does not restore the original experience, but it does set expectations before someone presses play.

The Peloton community’s reaction to the disappearance was swift and pointed. The Reddit thread drew 74 comments, with one member calling it “the worst news ever” and another describing it as “the most fun I have ever had on the treadmill in my life.” The class had built a genuine following in a short time.

Peloton Music Licensing and Class Changes

Peloton music licensing disputes are not new. The company has navigated music rights challenges for years, and members have seen beloved classes quietly disappear or return in altered form before. What is new here, if the disclaimer holds as a policy, is the acknowledgment.

It is worth noting that Lil Jon has been an active Peloton partner. Peloton promoted the original run class through his social channels, and he has appeared across multiple class formats including cycling, meditation, strength, and row. Whether the Peloton music licensing situation affects other Lil Jon classes on the platform remains to be seen.

Peloton has not issued a public statement on the class removal or the disclaimer. The Clip Out will update this story as more information becomes available.
