Peloton Chief Accounting Officer Exits After 4 Years

Saqib Baig, who also served as interim CFO this year, told Peloton on October 8 that he is leaving for an external opportunity.

The Peloton Chief Accounting Officer is leaving the company. Saqib Baig notified Peloton on October 8, 2026, that he plans to step down to pursue an external opportunity, according to an 8-K filing submitted on October 13. He will remain in the role through November 27, 2026, and Peloton has started a search for his replacement.

Peloton stated that the departure is not the result of any disagreements or issues relating to financial disclosures or accounting matters. The company also said Baig will not receive severance payments or benefits under its Severance and Change in Control Plan, and added that it is grateful for his contributions during his employment.

What the Peloton Chief Accounting Officer Filing Discloses

The disclosure falls under Item 5.02 of Form 8-K, which covers the departure of certain officers. Baig holds the titles of Chief Accounting Officer and principal accounting officer. The filing does not name the organization he is joining. Chief Financial Officer Sid Thacker signed the document.

As earlier Clip Out reporting outlined, the Peloton Chief Accounting Officer role oversees controllership, financial reporting, SOX compliance, finance operations, and finance technology. Baig has held the position since November 2022, which makes four years of service by his departure date.

His LinkedIn profile also lists a role as CFO of the Peloton Commercial Business Unit, held since August 2025. The 8-K filing does not address that role. Before joining Peloton, Baig served as Controller for Accounting Risk, Valuation and Financial Reporting at Meta.

Peloton interim CFO announcement

From Accounting Chief to Interim CFO

Baig took on broader responsibility earlier this year. Liz Coddington announced on February 5 that she would leave her post as CFO, and Peloton named Baig interim CFO effective March 27. He held that title until Thacker started on June 22, and he remained Chief Accounting Officer throughout.

Peloton announced Thacker’s appointment on May 26. Thacker previously served as CFO of Rent the Runway, and before that he spent about two decades as a public market investor. According to the company’s release, he oversees Peloton’s global finance organization and corporate strategy and reports to CEO Peter Stern.

The Search for the Next Peloton Chief Accounting Officer

Peloton has initiated a search of potential candidates for the role, according to the filing. The filing does not name a candidate or say whether an interim will cover the Peloton Chief Accounting Officer position after Baig departs.
