Peloton Spring Closure Date Update

Peloton 2024 Spring Closure Date Change

As we’ve previously reported in our article covering all of the planned Peloton closures for 2024, there is a scheduled Spring Closure “dark period” coming up in April for both Peloton Studios New York and Peloton Studios London.  In that article, we also mentioned that these dates should be viewed as more of a guideline than as concrete, as Peloton can (and will) tinker with them from time to time.   Well, Pelo-pals, that time has come and that schedule has, indeed, been tinkered with.  (We don’t want to say “we told you so,” but…….)

What’s Changed?

We knew that Peloton had planned a closure for April 15-21 of this year, but raised an eyebrow when we started to receive tips from TCO listeners about their April 22 PSNY classes (that Peloton had invited them to) suddenly being cancelled with no explanation, and then rescheduled for April 28.  Many of these Members had already booked their trips and were left scrambling to change flights and hotel reservations, not to mention rearranging their lives to accommodate a new travel date, and they were understandably a bit peeved.

Since we, too, were a little confused, we reached out to Peloton to find out about the cancellations–if, perhaps it was in observance of Passover or if they had a special event planned at the studio–and were told that the Spring Closure has always been planned to include April 22, per their website.

Erm….if you say so, Peloton.  But, it does beg the question: Why send out invitations to classes and let people go through the process (and expense) of booking travel if you knew the studios were going to be closed that day?  The answer will likely remain a mystery (but it did give us the opportunity to use a favorite meme of ours in the story).

I’m Going to Peloton, Yay! (But, also….CYA)

We say all of this to point out how important it is to keep in mind that, when booking these classes and trips to the studios, these schedules can, and do, change.  We know the excitement of finally booking a class at PSNY or PSL.  The endorphins are rushing and you can’t wait to book your trip ASAP to make your dreams a reality.  But, and we cannot stress this enough, cover your ass when it comes to travel insurance because the Peloton class schedule is at the mercy of so many things outside of your control.  While they don’t necessarily make a habit of it, Peloton can, and will, cancel a class for any number of reasons, whether it be an instructor illness, adding an extra day to a planned closure, or a last-minute VIP pop-in to film something special (see Oprah and Gayle’s visit).  Bottom line:  be excited, but also have a flexible plan.  These schedules are never set in stone.

We also recommend bookmarking our article covering the closure dates for the entire year, and we’ll be sure to keep it, and you, updated as we see dates change.
