Marcel Dinkins 5 Years at Peloton

Marcel Marks 5 Years With 50-Class Greatest Hits Collection

Marcel Dinkins is marking five years as a Peloton Tread instructor this month, and she’s celebrating the milestone with a “Greatest Hits” style collection that has grown to 50 classes on the platform, organized into categories that track her most requested workouts since joining Peloton in 2021.

Marcel’s Five Years on the Tread

Marcel joined Peloton in September 2021 as one of three new Tread instructors and quickly built a following for music-driven runs and walks. A South Memphis native, Marcel grew up in Boxtown as the eldest of four children and discovered athletics in seventh grade, when a coach recruited her for basketball. She went on to win the Miss Hustle trophy, earn Memphis Scholastic Athlete of the Year honors, and compete in track and field, volleyball, and cross country before serving as a First Lieutenant in the Army.

Since arriving at Peloton, Marcel has taught hundreds of classes and become known for pairing trap, pop, and hip hop music with challenging pacing and hill work. She refers to her community as “my loves” and often opens classes by naming herself the “designated hype person.” Beyond the Tread, Marcel is a global Nike athlete and host of the Take the Hill podcast. In 2026, she stepped into her first program as sole lead instructor with the Progressive Method, a four-week running plan, following earlier appearances in Peloton’s Pace Your Race Marathon Program and HYROX training content.

Inside Marcel’s 50-Class Collection

The five-year collection groups Marcel’s catalog into sections such as Greatest of All Time, Top Artist Series, Top Trap Walks & Runs, Top Walks, and Top Runs, giving members a curated path through five years of content rather than a chronological archive.

The Top Artist Series section leans into Marcel’s music-first approach, with classes like the 20 Minute Imagine Dragons Walk, the 30 Minute 2Pac Walk, the 30 Minute Cardi B Run, and the 20 Minute Boy Band Mixtape Walk. The Top Trap Walks & Runs category, a genre closely tied to Marcel’s signature style, includes multiple 20 and 30 minute Trap Walks alongside a 45 Minute Trap Run and a 20 Minute EDM Trap Run.

The Greatest of All Time section mixes formats for different training needs, from the 45 Minute Walk + Run and 30 Minute Top 50 Outdoor Power Walk to shorter tools like the 5 Minute Post-Run Stretch and 10 Minute Arms & Light Weights. The Top Walks and Top Runs categories round out the collection with options built for recovery and accessibility, including a 10 Minute Post-Meal Walk, a 20 Minute Recovery Run, and a 15 Minute Beginner Run, alongside longer staples like the 30 Minute Lizzo Run and 30 Minute New Year’s Run.

Recent Coverage of Marcel on The Clip Out

The Clip Out has followed Marcel’s Peloton run closely over the past year, including her return to lead status with the Progressive Method running program and the community-shared Progressive Method trackers tied to that plan. Marcel also represented Peloton at the Shamrock Marathon weekend in Virginia Beach, and posted a milestone triathlon training hill climb on Instagram this summer. Her Memphis roots were the subject of a feature covered in From Memphis to Motivation, which also noted her reflections on working at Peloton.

Marcel’s official instructor bio on Peloton’s website describes her background in basketball, track and field, and cross country, along with an Army career that shaped her coaching style. Five years in, that background continues to show up in a collection built around structure, pacing, and music that members return to again and again. Congratulations Marcel!

About the Author: Liz Nikol (#JustAskForHelp)

My daily therapy is provided by Peloton and I truly believe that movement is medicine. I don't discriminate - bike, tread, yoga, strength, pilates and a ton of meditation. By day, I am a psychotherapist and director of a large counseling center in NJ. I am particularly passionate about women's mental health, especially in midlife. By night, I am a mom to 2 dachshunds and a scruffy mutt and wife to a chiropractor that keeps us all moving (yes, that includes the dogs!). Besides Peloton, I am obsessed with hard rock (think Octane on Sirius), Law and Order everything and a good thriller. Find me on the Peloton leaderboard at #JustAskForHelp.
