Alex Karwoski’s path to Peloton ran through two Olympic Games. He represented Team USA in the men’s eight rowing event at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics, finishing fourth on both occasions, and was named the 2019 US Rowing Male Athlete of the Year. Off the water, he holds a civil and environmental engineering degree from Cornell and an MBA from Columbia. He has said he was recruited to Peloton through an unsolicited LinkedIn message that he initially assumed was a scam.

On the platform, Karwoski teaches Rowing, Running, and Walking classes, and has built a reputation for structuring workouts around music and themes, at one point building a full class around the Jurassic Park film score. That instinct carries into signature in-class monologues that have become a recognizable part of his teaching style, including a “Wear Sunscreen”-style speech that went viral among members in June 2026.

2026 has kept him visible both in the studio and in new Peloton programming. In March, he and fellow Row instructor Ash Pryor filmed a 2-for-1 Row class at Peloton Studios New York. In July, he joined two fellow instructors on the Mindset Connection podcast to talk candidly about mental health, discipline, and failure. In August, he became one of the first three instructors featured in Peloton’s new Outdoor Run Club Series, leading the 20-minute HIIT Build class.
