Hannah Corbin Takes the Stage at the 2024 Met Gala

It’s no secret that Hannah Corbin has been eyeing a stage comeback, chronicling her journey back to Broadway here and there via Instagram posts.  And, a few weeks ago, she teased that she’d booked….something.  But, that something remained a mystery until last night, when she took the stage with Ariana Grande at the 2024 Met Gala!

The Event

Known as The Super Bowl of Fashion, the Met Gala was first introduced to American fashion culture in 1948 as a midnight supper club called The Costume Benefit.  Now in its modern form and held annually on the first Monday in May, the Met Gala is a star-studded fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume.  It’s the place to see and be seen.

Every May, celebrities flock to New York City to show off designer creations that interpret the theme of the exhibition, with a sub-themed “dress code.”  This year, the famous Met steps were transformed into an ethereal garden and hosted some of the biggest names in pop culture as they gave their best interpretations of  the exhibit theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakened,” and the red (green??) carpet dress code, “The Garden of Time.”

Tickets to the event don’t exactly come cheap.  According to The Met, this year’s invited guests paid $75,000, with a 10-person table starting at $350,000.  The Super Bowl of Fashion and Money is more like it.

Behind Closed Doors

Once the celebs stop for photo ops to show off their gorgeous, and often unique, designer ‘fits, they head into the museum for the gala.  What happens behind those doors remains a bit of a mystery because, historically, no recording has been allowed (more on that in a moment!).  But, it is widely known that the evening includes a dinner and a performance.  Past years’ performers include Cher, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Rhianna.

This year’s performance?  Well, that included Peloton’s very own Hannah Corbin!  Hannah was front and center on stage as Ariana Grande performed a variety of her hits.  And, although recording of the event isn’t exactly encouraged, you just can’t stop a person with a cell phone.  Thanks to those renegade recorders, we can see footage of Hannah slaying on stage.

And, considering both of these links are from Vogue and the Met Museum, we think it’s safe to say that they’re actually ok with the recordings, too.

After the show, Hannah posed for photos with Ariana and the joy on her face is obvious.

Congratulations Hannah!  You slayed that stage last night!  We love this for you and can’t wait to see what you do next.
