- 1/25/24 60 min Outdoor 80s Walk with Matty Maggiacomo

- 2/25/24 90 min Power Zone Endurance Ride with Christine D’Ercole
Why you loved them!
Sometimes it’s hard to pick just one favorite, but these reviews make it easy! Here’s what the TCO Community had to say about their favorite classes from the last week.
1. Favorite Peloton Row
11/10/22 45 min 90s Row with Matt Wilpers
Karen Smith’s favorite comes from way back when the Row was the very new kid on the block. And it is an absolute gem in terms of programming!
“If you’re looking for a great easy/recovery row that’s longer than the 15-20 minute recovery rows, take this one!” Karen said. She shared that the class “rotates between drills and easy pace rowing” which is a “great way to flush out the legs after a long run.”
In all, the class includes five drills segments of one to four minutes long, and four rowing segments of four to nine minutes long.
The playlist for this class is a fun and eclectic mix of 90s hits, including music from Lenny Kravitz, Blur, TLC, Usher, John Mellencamp, and Big Pun.
This class plan feels very similar to Matt Wilpers’ Low Impact Rides, which offer the same drills cycling pros use in workouts and before races. Matt explains that good technique leads to higher output with lower effort. But that technique does not necessarily come naturally. That’s why Matt does an excellent job breaking down good technique into simple, manageable drills to help tune your body and mind into the most efficient, productive mechanics.
This class is technique gold and should absolutely get a recurring spot in your stack!
2. Favorite Peloton Run
12/21/23 30 min Kelly Clarkson Run with Robin Arzón
Stephanie Latos found some good vibes and motivation when she needed it in the energizing combo of Robin Arzón and Kelly Clarkson.
“Robin’s Kelly Clarkson 30 min Run was a whole vibe on a day when I was feeling like I could use a push!” she said.
Robin encourages singing, feeling, and flying to the music on this run. Throughout the class, the choruses are the speed pushes, but that means the pushes are short, manageable, and–most importantly–fueled by the adrenaline of Kelly Clarkson’s voice. Robin predicts some PR’s in this class. Take it and see if she’s right!
3. Favorite Peloton Outdoor Walk
1/25/24 60 min Outdoor 80s Walk with Matty Maggiacomo
Sometimes, the hardest part of a run is keeping it easy (if you know, you know!). Well, listener Mindy Jensen (LuvFitness_Food) has a hack for that. Her favorite class this week was an Outdoor Walk that she took as an easy endurance run. She shared:
“I used Matty’s 60 min 80s outdoor walk from 1/25/23 for my scheduled endurance run. He organized the playlist starting in 1980 and moved through the decade ending in 1989. Matty also provided interesting tidbits on each song.
This was perfect playlist to make sure I stayed at conversation pace since I was singing almost all the songs! (Since I ran to it, I can’t comment on the class structure since I ignored those cues. I was here for the 🎶🎶)”
The playlist includes Another One Bites The Dust by Queen, Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles, What’s Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner, and so many more beltable songs.
Whether you are walking or running, Matty invites you to honor your intention for the class and take it at your own pace. He begins the class with a 10-minute warmup followed by 48 minutes of walking with effort pushes and recoveries throughout, and of course some time to cool down and stretch at the end. This is a great class to bookmark for your next easy day!
4. Favorite Peloton Full Body Strength
2/9/24 45 min Full Body Strength with Rebecca Kennedy
Kristen Cascino Lavin found an awesome Rebecca Kennedy Full Body Strength class this week. “This class by Rebecca Kennedy… it was a good mix of upper and lower body work. And good music,” she said.
This class feels like a highly-focused lifting session with a well-caffeinated gymrat bestie. I’ve taken it once and listened to it once more while writing this recap, and I absolutely cannot wait to take it again.
Rebecca prescribes light, medium, and heavy weights for this class and provides indicators throughout to understand whether you should be increasing or decreasing your weight from set to set (or class to class if you retake this one). After the warm-up, Rebecca sets the tone with heavies and Romanian deadlifts, with a focus on the bottom of the move instead of getting all the way to standing in each rep, which burns the glutes in the best of ways.
The rest of the class uses medium and light weights with higher reps, many of them reciprocating (meaning moving both arms at the same time in opposite directions), and shorter recoveries overall. The moves include chest presses, split squats, seated overhead presses, sumo squats, bicep curls, and curtsy lunges. The class finishes with an AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) of human-makers, squat jumps, and butterfly situps.
This class is the perfect full-body burner to keep in your stack for a day when you really want to get after it. Thank you, Kristen, for the recommendation!
5. Favorite Unstackable Peloton Ride
2/25/24 90 min Power Zone Endurance Ride with Christine D’Ercole
Sometimes we want a class that leaves us in a puddle and washes all hope of a stack of extra classes away with it. We call those classes Unstackable, and we love hearing about our listeners’ Unstackable experiences.
For this week’s Unstackable recommendation, we heard from SO MANY LISTENERS!
Cari Patel said, “Christine’s 90 min PZE from Sunday 2/25. 60 minutes total in Zone 3, it was mentally and physically challenging, but made you so proud. CDE’s coaching is unparalleled and the playlist was FIRE. Cannot recommend this one enough.”
Ricky Connolly agreed, “Christine D’Ercole – Peloton’s 90 minute PZ Endurance ride of Sunday 2/25/24 was a ride that will have riders proud of finishing. And THAT playlist is reason alone to revisit this ride.”
Jo Vögeli added, “I rarely bookmark PZ rides and only do them during PZ challenges, but I bookmarked this one with full intention of riding whenever I need to escape on my bike for a long ride with an excellent playlist.”
Thank you!
