Susie Chan Cheltenham Instagram story announcing Unstoppable Women in Sport with Sophie Power on October 14

The Susie Chan Cheltenham appearance is set for Wednesday, October 14, 2026, when the Peloton Tread instructor joins ultrarunner Sophie Power on stage for Unstoppable Women in Sport. The 60-minute session starts at 8:30 p.m. UK time at the Garden Theatre in Montpellier Gardens, as part of the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

Sports journalist and presenter Karthi Gnanasegaram will moderate. According to the festival’s event listing, the conversation will cover balancing elite sport with life’s biggest challenges, recovering from setbacks, breaking barriers and the changing landscape of women’s sport.

For members who know Chan from her Tread and Outdoor classes, the Susie Chan Cheltenham session offers a different view of the instructor: the personal story behind the miles.

Susie Chan Cheltenham Event Details

Susie Chan Cheltenham tickets cost £16, and the festival listed good availability as of October 5.

The festival also notes that Ellie Kildunne will no longer appear at the Susie Chan Cheltenham event due to unforeseen circumstances.

Montpellier Gardens sits in central Cheltenham. Anyone traveling to the Susie Chan Cheltenham event can use nearby car parks, including Rodney Road and Regent Arcade, or take bus routes 94, 94X, 97 and 10, which stop opposite the gardens. The walk from Cheltenham Spa Railway Station takes about 25 minutes.

An Endurance Story Built on Resilience

The festival describes Chan as an icon of endurance running and notes that she has completed the Marathon des Sables more times than any other British woman. As the listing frames it, her path has been a fight against the odds, from leaving a dysfunctional marriage to going through cancer treatment.

Chan details that journey in her book, Trails and Tribulations: The Running Adventures of Susie Chan. It will be available at the Waterstones Cheltenham Literature Festival bookshop.

The Susie Chan Cheltenham talk adds to a busy year of public appearances. Chan recently spoke on the FT Weekend Festival Travel stage, marked 10 years with the National Running Show, and helped her team set a course record at Badwater Salton Sea.

Sophie Power and the Photo That Started a Global Conversation

Chan shares the stage with Sophie Power, a record-breaking ultrarunner who made headlines worldwide when a photo of her breastfeeding her three-month-old son during a 106-mile race went viral. The image changed her life and prompted global conversations about motherhood, endurance and the barriers women face in sport.

Power’s book, The Power Within: Record-breaking, ultrarunning and fighting for change, is also stocked for the event. Pairing the two authors keeps the Susie Chan Cheltenham conversation focused on the festival’s central question: what it takes to compete at the highest level while life keeps happening.

Following the Susie Chan Cheltenham Event From Outside the UK

The festival listing does not mention a livestream or recording, so the session appears to be in-person only. Members who can’t make the trip to Gloucestershire can still train with Chan through her Tread and Outdoor classes on the Peloton App, including the 90-minute Tread and Outdoor classes she was the first instructor to lead.

For UK members, the Susie Chan Cheltenham evening is a chance to hear Chan talk through ambition and setbacks in her own words, then meet her at the book signing. The Cheltenham Literature Festival framing suggests the hour will focus as much on life outside running as on the races themselves.
