Strength for Runners Class: My 45 Minutes With Logan Aldridge
The Strength for Runners Class Where I Got to Know Logan
A first-person look at Logan Aldridge’s in-person session at the NYRR Run Center.

On Wednesday, October 7, I took my first in-person Strength for Runners class with Peloton instructor Logan Aldridge at the NYRR Run Center, and it was a tough, fun night. The 45 minute session was held at the NYRR Run Center at 320 West 57th Street in New York City, with tickets priced at $35 through Eventbrite.
The Strength for Runners class is part of Peloton’s TCS New York City Marathon Weekend lineup, which brings Peloton instructors to the NYRR Run Center in the weeks before race day. It followed Mariana Fernandez’s Yoga Flow class, which opened the series on September 21.
A Runner-Friendly Space at NYRR

If you have never been to the NYRR Run Center, it is a great place for runners. Bathrooms were clean, lockers were free, and water was available. NYRR also provided sanitary wipes and had mats to borrow.
I walked in at 5:30 while the team was still setting up. Check-in was smooth: I showed my ID, and they pointed me to the mats and told me to grab any spot before the 6:00 start.

About 15Â mats were laid out with light music playing, and the room felt calm. As people arrived, we settled onto our mats and started chatting. Most of the group were locals and regulars on the Tread, and we all agreed on the same thing. Strength training is important for runners, but we don’t always do it!
Meet Logan Aldridge

Logan teaches both Tread and Strength classes on Peloton. He joined the company in 2021 as its first adaptive training consultant before becoming an instructor. His programming now includes the Adaptive Training collection, his Just Tabata signature series, and running and strength classes.
Inside the Strength for Runners Class
Just after 6:00, the music got louder and Logan came out with a big smile. He opened with a few jokes, thanked us for coming, and talked about Peloton’s new relationship with NYRR. Then he walked us through the plan for the 45 minutes:
- 6 minute warm up
- 3 blocks of work
- 6 minute mobility cool down

The Strength for Runners class was bodyweight only, and the moves were simple. But simple is not easy! The first two blocks focused on single leg stability, working the glutes, quads, and hamstrings. The third block went after the core. I won’t lie, it was tough. Plank marches made time slow way down for me, but the rest of the class flew by.
Logan kept us engaged the whole time. He asked who had races coming up, followed up with questions, and joked around while still working us hard. His energy was contagious, and the room fed off it.
Q&A, Snacks, and Time With Logan
After class there was a member Q&A and a few snacks. Logan stayed after the Strength for Runners class for individual photos and talked with everyone at length. He answered questions about why strength work matters for runners and how it can improve your running. I asked how and when to lift as race day gets closer, and he was happy to share his knowledge.

Why In-Person Strength Classes Stand Out
One thing we all talked about at the end was how hard it can be to get into classes at the Peloton studio, especially strength classes. That made this Strength for Runners class extra special. Overall, it was a fun night with great people. Logan was even more fun in person, and this was my first in-person strength class. Hopefully it won’t be my last!
More Peloton Events Before Marathon Weekend
If this Strength for Runners class has you wanting more, the calendar is still filling up. Peloton’s event hub lists a Peloton x NYRR Shakeout Run on October 30, a Marathon Day Cheer Zone in Greenpoint on November 1, and Medal Monday at Peloton Studios New York on November 2. Peloton says more events are on the way, so keep an eye on the lineup as race day gets closer.
Recently added was another Strength for Runners class with Matt Wilpers, already sold out, but keep your eyes on cancellations!
