Sam Yo NYC Book Signing Set for May 20 at Barnes & Noble Fifth Avenue
Sam Yo Book Signing NYC Set for May 20 at Barnes & Noble Fifth Avenue
Peloton instructor Sam Yo is bringing his debut book to New York City, with a signing event scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, at Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue. The event kicks off at 12:00 PM ET and tickets are available now through Eventbrite. This Sam Yo NYC book signing is one fans will want to mark on their calendars before the book hits shelves.
The timing is not accidental. The book, The Monk’s Mindset: Finding Stillness in a World That Won’t Stop Moving, releases on May 19 through Blackstone Publishing — one day before the signing. And ahead of launch, Amazon has already recognized it with an Editors’ Pick designation, a label that appears on the search results page and signals the book stood out to Amazon’s editorial team from the broader catalog.
We’ve been covering Sam’s journey to published author of his first book! He will also be visiting additional cities for a more formal tour event.
What to Know Before You Go to the Sam Yo NYC Book Signing
The Barnes & Noble Fifth Avenue signing event is ticketed and in-person only. Tickets are $32.65 per person through Eventbrite and include one copy of The Monk’s Mindset and admission into the signing line with Sam Yo. Each ticket admits one person, and no additional tickets will be honored at the door.
Sam will personalize each book with the purchaser’s first name. Photos are welcome and will be taken on attendees’ own phones. No memorabilia will be signed, and any gifts for Sam will be collected before the signing line begins. Attendees should plan to arrive before the event starts, as late arrivals risk missing the opportunity to meet him. The event line begins forming outside at 11:00 AM.

About The Monk’s Mindset
The Monk’s Mindset is Sam Yo’s first book and draws directly from his own life. Sam grew up in London as a first-generation immigrant of Thai descent, trained at the Laban Center, earned an award-winning career on stage and screen — including making history as the first Thai actor to play the King of Siam in The King and I in the West End — and then stepped away from that world to spend time in a Thai monastery as an ordained Theravada Buddhist monk. He eventually found his way to Peloton, where he has been an instructor for more than six years.
The book blends memoir with practical mindfulness tools, building on the philosophy Sam brings to his Peloton classes. It is structured around what he describes as four dimensions — body, mind, heart, and spirit — and offers practices including his “bubble” method for managing overwhelm, a communication framework he calls “emptying your cup,” and a set of short daily exercises he calls monk’s mindset moments. People magazine noted that the book reflects Sam’s approach of helping readers find presence for themselves, drawing from his monastic training, performing background, and coaching experience.
The Monk’s Mindset is available for pre-order now on Amazon in hardcover ($27.95), Kindle ($9.99), and audiobook formats. It is also available through Blackstone Publishing directly.
The Amazon Editors’ Pick
The Editors’ Pick badge from Amazon appears in search results for the book and signals editorial recognition from Amazon’s book team. It is one of the platform’s more visible pre-publication endorsements, appearing alongside the book’s listing when shoppers search for it. For a debut author, the designation adds credibility ahead of the official release date.
