Peloton Instructor Rad Lopez Buys Land in Dominican Republic, and the Details Are Incredible
Rad Lopez Makes A Bold New Property Purchase… and Plans to Get a Peacock?
Rad Lopez, the Peloton Strength, Tread, Cardio, and Boxing instructor recently announced he purchased property in the Dominican Republic, sharing the milestone on Instagram with a reel tagged there and the caption: “Did a thing.” What followed was a tour of the land that made clear this is far more than a real estate transaction.
A Homecoming with Deep Roots
Rad Lopez grew up in the Bronx in a vibrant Dominican household, raised by his single mother. That heritage has long been visible in his work as a Peloton instructor. He is one of the coaches behind the Iconos Latinos collection, a series of Spanish-language classes that bring Latino cultural celebration to the platform. For Rad, this property purchase is not only a real estate investment, it’s clearly a deeply personal connection to the country his family calls home. His IG tour of the land makes that abundantly clear, and anyone who has taken his classes will feel his energy about this come through.
Rad Lopez: From Boxing to Peloton Bootcamps
Rad joined Peloton in 2021 as one of the platform’s first strength-focused instructors, coming up through a background in boxing. He has since expanded his role, teaching bike bootcamp classes and launching an intermediate Strength+ program designed to build speed, strength, and athletic performance.

He is also a Nike-sponsored athlete and a competitive marathoner, having run both the Chicago Marathon and the New York City Marathon, proof that his athletic ambition extends well beyond the studio. He also makes a beautiful cup of coffee, as demonstrated on his artistically shot IG stories (IYKYK!).
The Instagram Announcement That Has Members and Instructors Excited
The news of Rad Lopez’ property purchase arrived via an Instagram reel to his account @radichell. In the reel, Rad narrated a walkthrough of the property, and the scope of his vision came through immediately.

The land includes fruit trees, and Rad made clear he is already anticipating mango season. There are cacao trees on the property, too, which prompted him to joke that he might just make chocolate for everyone. He pointed out open fields with the future in mind, noting the space could one day be home to horses and cows. Dedicated areas for family to gather are part of the renovation/construction plan as well. And in a lighter moment, Rad floated the idea of getting a peacock.
It is a big, bold vision for a piece of land, and his excitement is genuine and contagious.
The post drew quick attention from fans and fellow Peloton instructors alike. In the comments, instructors and members joked that they would be happy to make the trip to the Dominican Republic to help him build. Given the scale of what Rad is describing, he may want to take them up on it.
What Comes Next
Rad has kept some specifics private for now, including the exact location and a firm timeline for his plans. But watching him walk that land and narrate what it could become makes one thing clear: this project matters to him. Rad Lopez has built his career on showing up fully, in the studio, on the race course, and now on a piece of the island where his family’s story began. We cannot wait to follow his progress.
