Hyrox Ownership Change: Founders Reclaim Control

Hyrox Ownership Change Signals New Investor Era

Founders partner with L Catterton-led investors to buy back Infront’s majority stake in the fitness-racing brand, a deal that lands as Hyrox pushes for Olympic inclusion and Peloton members keep showing up on the race floor.

Hyrox ownership change is now official. The fitness-racing group’s co-founders have bought back a majority stake from Swiss firm Infront Sports & Media, partnering with a consortium led by U.S. private equity firm L Catterton to take back control of the brand they built in 2017. The Clip Out has been following this story since June.

Neither Hyrox nor Infront disclosed financial terms, but multiple outlets have reported the deal values the company at roughly 600 million euros, or about 698 million dollars. L Catterton did not respond to a request for comment on the figure.

Inside the Hyrox Ownership Change

Infront first invested in Hamburg-based Hyrox in 2019 and became its majority owner in 2022. That relationship is now ending, with founders Christian Toetzke and Moritz Fuerste reclaiming control alongside their new investor group. Fuerste, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in field hockey for Germany, called the acquisition “a pivotal next step in the rapid evolution of the Hyrox success story.”

The numbers behind that evolution are hard to ignore. Hyrox’s standardized indoor race, which pairs eight one-kilometer runs with eight functional workout stations, now runs more than 100 events across over 30 countries. Infront said the 2025-26 season alone drew more than 1.4 million participants and over 1.5 million spectators.

Where the Peloton and Hyrox Partnership Fits In

The Clip Out first covered Hyrox back in July 2025, when Peloton and Hyrox announced their digital training partnership. That collaboration has only deepened since, with Peloton rolling out a 12-week Hyrox training program and instructors like Robin Arzon and Andy Speer earning Certified Hyrox Performance Coach status. A change in Hyrox’s ownership structure does not appear to touch that content partnership directly, but it is worth watching as the new investor group sets priorities for the brand’s next phase.

In addition to Robin and Andy, Matt Wilpers is one of the newly visible US faces of that Peloton-Hyrox crossover. He first raced Hyrox at the Legendz Miami Beach event in April 2026, finishing the Open Doubles division in 1:03:06 alongside partner Eric Rivera. Just this past week, he posted on his Instagram Stories he is back to training. We know he loves a seasonal shakeup, so is an upcoming race in his future?

Hyrox’s Olympic Ambitions Continue

The Hyrox ownership change also lands alongside a bigger storyline for the brand. Hyrox has its sights set on the Olympics, with Hyrox India head Deepak Raj telling Reuters in August that the organization is aiming for a place in the 2032 and 2036 Games. That timeline gives the new L Catterton-backed ownership group a clear long-term target to build toward, beyond simply expanding the race calendar.

Next Hyrox Competitions on the Calendar

For members tracking the race schedule, Hyrox returns to action soon. Maastricht hosts an event September 17 through 20, with Salt Lake City following close behind September 18 through 20, its first appearance in that market. Both mark the brand’s continued expansion into new cities as it builds toward its Olympic case.

The ownership change gives Hyrox’s founders more direct control over how that expansion plays out, at a moment when the brand’s partnerships, including the one with Peloton, are drawing more attention than ever.
