Peloton x Lululemon Playdates Harness the Power of Fun
A wise man once said, “add variety to your fitness routine to keep yourself fresh throughout each training season.” And by a wise man, I mean Matt Wilpers, and by once I mean almost every Saturday in his long Power Zone rides. So who better to be part of this lighthearted new Collection of Playdate classes than Matt, appearing alongside Adrian Williams, in a fun 10-Minute Stretch? In this 2-for-1 class they talk about outdoor games and sports, their childhoods, and teamwork, while relying on each other’s personable company and physical presences to get the most out of their workout. I don’t know about you, but tag me in, guys!
What’s a Playdate Class?
Expanding on their Lululemon partnership, launched in 2023, Peloton has given us a Collection of classes in honor of World Mental Health Day that help us “rediscover the joy of play,” in the words of Ally Love in her Barre Playdate class. It’s great to have these reminders about movement being so key to our wellbeing, and the encouragement to participate with others. If you haven’t tried some of these modalities yet, what are you waiting for? This Collection is like a little bag of fun-sized Halloween candy, lots of treats are in store for us and we are ready to dig in! Try a new way of moving and let the uplifting spirits of some of your favorite instructors keep you company as you get playful and feel more positive. It’s even nice to have a different outdoor backdrop here! Head on over to the Collections tab and scroll for Playdate classes. You’ll see the brand new drop of six classes there. And – spoiler alert – yes, there are special badges for completing these!
Interestingly, the roster here includes more than the Lululemon Ambassador instructors. (With two of the silliest instructors – who are also Ambassadors – across the pond in the London Studio, could a UK Playdate be in our future?) These Playdate classes are the second official co-branded Lululemon content launch on Peloton after the Move for You Challenge earlier this year. What else might be in store? What would you like to see in this crossover programming?
Plan for World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day is a day that Peloton has traditionally honored annually with themed classes. In 2024, it falls on October 10th and the focus this year is Mental Health at Work. Perhaps these little “snack” classes are designed to do on a lunch break, or as to “get the wiggles out” after sitting for a long meeting. Will Peloton be dropping additional themed classes for this important day of focus? We hope so! What are your favorite ways to be silly and playful? Let us know!
