Peloton Tri 2026: 3 Classes, 1 Essential Tag, 1 Badge
Matt Wilpers Explains the Peloton Tri 2026 Tag and Badge Window for Saturday

The Peloton Tri 2026 takes place Saturday, September 19, and Matt Wilpers has laid out the rules for members who plan to take part. Anyone competing live at home must use a specific leaderboard tag, and finishing all three classes within 24 hours of the live event earns a Peloton Tri badge.
Wilpers shared the guidance in an Instagram video captioned “Rules of the road for the tri this weekend.” The event is Peloton’s second annual Tri, first covered by The Clip Out in our Peloton Triathlon announcement. Wilpers said members will do the same Tri whether they join in the studio or live from home.
Peloton Tri 2026 Format: One Row, One Ride, One Run
The Peloton Tri 2026 is built from three 30-minute classes: a Row, a Ride and a Run. As previously reported, the classes run back to back with five-minute transitions between them, and Wilpers leads all three. He has also teased Katie Wang as a special guest.

Peloton also launched a Peloton Triathlon Social Team with challenge tracking and a four-week training plan for members preparing for the event.
Output Follows You Across All Three Classes

Wilpers said that this year, output follows members across all three classes. The leaderboard shown in the video has a separate tab for the 30-minute Row, Ride and Run, so each class has its own view.
A preview of the results screen lists overall rank with filters for age, gender and team. It also shows combined total output in kilojoules with separate views for Ride, Run and Row, plus max output, total distance and average pace or speed for each discipline. The example screen includes comparisons to 2025. Wilpers said Peloton will send official results by push notification.
How to Use the Peloton Tri 2026 Leaderboard Tag
Wilpers flagged one requirement for members competing live at home: use “The Peloton Tri 2026” leaderboard tag.

In the video, the tag appears as #ThePelotonTri2026 under My Teams in the leaderboard filter menu, alongside options for All, Following, Just Me, Gender / Age Group and Top Tags. The leaderboard view that follows is filtered to that tag.
Earn the Peloton Tri Badge Within 24 Hours
Members who complete all three classes within 24 hours of the live event receive a Peloton Tri badge. The badge is gold and shows row, ride and run icons above the words The Peloton Tri 2026.

That window is consistent with the September 19 to 20 dates for the Peloton Tri Challenge in the Peloton app. As previously reported, the classes stay in the library afterward, but the 2026 badge is only available during those two days, and members who miss the live event can take the classes on demand within the window. Members can opt in on Peloton’s challenge page, and past badges are listed in our badge library.
Wilpers closed the video by describing the day as “three disciplines, one effort” and said he will see members on the leaderboard Saturday. Members who want the Peloton Tri 2026 badge can opt in before Saturday’s classes.
