Peloton Reveals Intervals Walk Classes to Sharpen Pace

New Tread sessions from Jess King, Joslyn Thompson Rule, and Jermaine Johnson trade a steady pace for structured intervals.

Intervals Walk Classes are now part of Peloton’s Walking library, giving Tread members a structured format that shifts pace throughout instead of holding one steady effort. Three sessions launched Wednesday, August 5: a 15-minute class with Jess King, a 20-minute class with Jermaine Johnson, and a 30-minute class with Joslyn Thompson Rule.

What Intervals Walk Classes Feel Like on the Tread

Jess King leads the 15-minute Intervals Walk Class and describes it as a way to build aerobic capacity while staying low impact, combining several pacing elements together rather than isolating just one.

King is clear the format isn’t meant to feel extreme, noting “it’s not going to be ballistic,” and that the class uses set pace targets to help members focus on power, strength, and speed rather than guessing at effort level.

Joslyn Thompson Rule leads the 30-minute version and welcomed the format’s arrival directly, saying “I am so happy that we have intervals walks here.”

How Intervals Walk Classes Differ From Endurance Walk

Jermaine Johnson leads the 20-minute Intervals Walk Class and frames it around improving overall walking fitness, alternating between a comfortable base pace and quicker intervals throughout the class.

That structure sets Intervals Walk Classes apart from Endurance Walk Classes, which launched the same day and hold one steady pace for the full session with no built-in recoveries. Where Endurance Walk stays constant, Intervals Walk moves members between harder and easier stretches by design.

Where to Find Intervals Walk Classes

Intervals Walk Classes are live now in Peloton’s Walking class library, and you can browse the full range of Peloton Tread workouts to see how they fit alongside runs, hikes, and bootcamps.

Interval walk as a filter

Peloton added a wave of new hike and Extra Steps walking classes back in May, and Intervals Walk Classes give the Walking discipline its clearest structured option yet, alongside Endurance Walk’s steady-state approach.

With three classes already live, Intervals Walk Classes look built for the same kind of expansion Peloton has given other Tread walking categories this year.
