Now Hiring: Peloton Data Scientist for Retention
A Peloton data scientist opening is now listed on the company’s careers site, focused on habit formation and engagement analytics. The full-time, hybrid role is on the Product Analytics team and is based in New York City.
Why Peloton Needs a Data Scientist
Peloton is positioning itself as a comprehensive wellness platform, not solely a connected fitness hardware company. Its stated goal is to create “Members for Life,” meaning members who build consistent fitness routines across its full range of offerings, from strength training and yoga to Tread classes and meditation. The company is investing in product experiences specifically designed to help members build and sustain those habits over time.
Measuring whether those investments are working is where this role comes in. Habit formation analytics help Peloton understand whether product experiences are meaningfully shifting how members engage over the long term. Those behavioral insights feed directly into the product roadmap, helping the team determine what to build, test, and prioritize.

What the Peloton Data Scientist Role Involves
The Peloton data scientist in this position will own analytics for habit formation features, design and measure A/B tests alongside product managers and designers, and translate member behavior data into strategic recommendations. The role also calls for communicating data insights to senior stakeholders through clear, compelling narratives that influence product direction.
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of analytics experience with a product or UX focus, fluency in SQL, and practical knowledge of Python. Experience with tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Segment is a bonus, along with familiarity with large language models for analysis or workflow support. The base salary range is $140,400 to $166,100.
