Peloton Celebrates World Mental Health Day on October 10 with Mindful Movement Classes

Last Updated: October 9, 2023By Tags: ,

World Mental Health Day, celebrated on October 10 each year, aims to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and mobilize efforts in support of mental health care. Peloton is marking this day with a collection of classes that prioritize mental health.

Themes and Objectives of World Mental Health Day

Since the World Federation for Mental Health announced October 10 as World Mental Health Day in 1992, the day has been celebrated with a new theme every year, with this year’s theme being “Mental health is a universal human right.”  No matter what the annual theme, the overall objective of this day is to raise mental health awareness and provide an opportunity for stakeholders working on mental health issues to discuss their work and what needs to be done to make mental health care available to people worldwide.

Peloton’s Classes for World Mental Health Day

Historically, Peloton has celebrated World Mental Health Day with a collection of classes, and this year is no different. Members are invited to prioritize their mental wellness with classes united by mindful movement. The classes include a 20-minute World Mental Health Day ride with Ben, a 10-minute meditation with Kirra, a 20-minute run with Adrian, a 5-minute stretch with Mayla, and a 10-minute shadowboxing class with Kendall. These classes will be available on demand on October 10 at 7:00am BST/2:00am ET.

In addition to the on-demand classes, Peloton is offering live classes on October 10, including a 30-minute World Mental Health Day Yoga Flow with Anna at 12:00pm ET/5:00pm BST and a 20-minute World Mental Health Day Row with Ash at 7:30pm ET.

Putting Mental Health First with Peloton

Peloton’s classes for World Mental Health Day are a reminder to prioritize our mental health. Mindful movement, like the classes Peloton is offering, has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and increase overall well-being. Taking care of our mental health should be a year-round priority, but World Mental Health Day provides a helpful reminder to check in with ourselves and take the time to do something good for our mental well-being.
