Mumford & Sons Artist Series: Class Lineup

The Mumford & Sons Artist Series delivers on Thursday May 21, with five classes across the bike, tread and row built around one of the most recognisable catalogues in folk-rock.
This week’s lineup spans all three formats, with classes across on demand, premiere and live slots.
Mumford & Sons Artist Series: Why It Works
- Mumford & Sons translates surprisingly well to a workout. Their songs start slow and build into powerful, high-energy finishes, which makes them a great companion for tough intervals and climbs.
- Five classes, three formats. Whether the bike, tread or row is the go-to, there’s a class in this series that fits. Taking all three across the week makes for a solid varied training block.
- Strong instructors across the board. Denis Morton, Christine D’Ercole, Mayla Wedekind, Mariana Fernández and Alex Karwoski each bring a distinct coaching style, and this lineup has genuine depth.

About Mumford & Sons
Formed in West London in 2007, Mumford & Sons built their sound around folk instruments including banjo, mandolin and double bass, blended with driving rock energy. Their 2009 debut Sigh No More put them on the global map, with “Little Lion Man” becoming a worldwide hit. Their follow-up, Babel, debuted at number one on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200 in 2012, and went on to win Album of the Year at the 55th Grammy Awards in 2013, a surprise victory over The Black Keys, Frank Ocean and Jack White.
Their songs build steadily from quiet, intricate openings into full, layered finishes. For anyone who has pushed through a tough climb to “I Will Wait” or “The Cave,” that structure is immediately familiar.
- They started from scratch in a London pub. The band came together at a small West London music venue called Bosun’s Locker in 2006, where a loose community of folk musicians regularly played together before Mumford & Sons coalesced as a band in late 2007.
- Their name was a deliberate choice. Ben Lovett has said the name was chosen to evoke the feel of an old-fashioned family business, grounded, unpretentious and built to last.
- Babel was the fastest-selling album in the UK in 2012. It shifted over 159,000 copies in its first week in the UK alone, and went on to sell more than 600,000 copies in the US in its debut week.
