Mel Robbins - 5 Second Rule: Transform Your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage

The Clip Out March Book Club Recap

Recap of The Clip Out’s March Book Club Meeting

Mel Robbins’ Formula For Transformation

The Clip Out community enjoyed its March book club meeting, this time reviewing a non-fiction book written by Peloton community member Mel Robbins.  We read Mel’s “5 Second Rule:  Transform Your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage, and we had lots of things to discuss!  The great thing about our book club is that our members hail from all walks of life joining and we share our thoughts, we support each other, and we agree and disagree, respectfully, about how the monthly book spoke to each of us.  We love that we can meet and share time with other members of the Peloton community in this way!

Mel’s book provides a simple way to get yourself moving on things that are difficult.  Some of our members listened to the audio version and enjoyed listening to Mel’s tips for moving yourself forward.  It seemed that the “Type B” members of our group were especially inspired by Mel’s formula for getting things done (you’ll have to read the book to get the formula!).

Also, since our members are a curious group, many listened to Mel’s podcast and checked out her previous talks to get some more insights.  Some appreciated Mel’s attempt to keep her advice simple, and we all agreed that overthinking things (which many of us do) doesn’t always lead to the best result.  We talked about times in our lives that we needed courage or that we did not “just do it”, and how we strive to flip our negative self talk and  turn anxiety into excitement.  As one member said, “either you run the day or the day runs you.”

Join us for our next book club meeting by joining Patreon. (You can also check out the replay of our prior book club meetings there!) The meetings are open to both the free and paid levels of Patreon members, and they take place on the second Tuesday of each month.  Our April book will be ”Maid” by Stephanie Land, and our May book will be Emma Lovewell’s book “LIve Learn Love Well:  Lessons From a Life of Progress Not Perfection.”

Join us as we talk, laugh, and ponder so many topics in our book club next month!
