Marcel Dinkins on Leave from Peloton: Her Journey to Recovery

Marcel Dinkins announced on Instagram this morning that she will be taking some time off while she works through some “life events and a personal injury”.  In an Instagram reel released this morning, Marcel says, “I will be stepping away for a while for surgery, but looking forward to coming back stronger and wiser than ever.”

Marcel, who joined Peloton in 2021, quickly gained a reputation as a fun and dynamic instructor who can motivate even the most reluctant runner. Her classes are known for their upbeat energy, lively music (especially trap and pop!), and infectious humor … not to mention LOTS of hills! While her absence will undoubtedly be felt by many Peloton enthusiasts, the news has been met with an outpouring of support and encouragement from fans and colleagues alike.

Staying Connected with Marcel

Fortunately, we won’t have to go without our regular dose of Marcel’s enthusiasm and encouragement. She assured her Instagram audience that in her absence, Peloton will release on-demand classes and encore performances of some of her most popular classes. Marcel teased that she has a couple of projects that she is working on, and she will remain active on Instagram, sharing updates on her progress and staying connected with her followers. “I have a great medical team and great support from my family and friends as well as my Pelofamily, so I’m very confident that we’ll be back cracking jokes and taking the hill in no time,” Marcel added.

As we all know well, exercise is not only about pushing limits and breaking a sweat but also about taking care of your mental and physical health. The news of Marcel’s temporary departure serves as a reminder sometimes we all need to take a step back and prioritize self-care sometimes.

Here’s to Marcel Dinkins!  Join us in wishing her a speedy recovery and a triumphant return to the Peloton Tread. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
