The announcement, posted to Peloton Studios’ Instagram on September 7, gives members an exact date for the London-based instructor’s return to the live schedule, arriving a day earlier than the September 14 timeline we suspected in August. And what a cute Reel they made!

Hainsby-Alldis has been off the schedule since December, when she and husband Ben Alldis welcomed son Ace Eddie Alldis. Ben returned to teaching in March, roughly six months ahead of Leanne, whose leave stretched longer under the UK’s statutory maternity provisions. This is wholly different than maternity leave experiences in the United States. We hope to hear about Leanne’s experiences in motherhood as she takes to the Bike once again next week.

She hasn’t been entirely absent from public life during this long stretch of time. In June, Hainsby-Alldis made her first public appearance since giving birth at London’s Longevity Show, joining Joe Wicks and Dan Hancock for a conversation on cross-training.
In August, she opened the waitlist for Lead with the Light, a six-week course she described as built for the person who holds everything together for everyone else. The program pairs weekly written lessons with video, workbook pages, and a private community called Yes to the Light, and is framed less as a fitness offering than as a reset for women who spend their time managing everyone else’s needs.
What to Expect From Leanne’s Comeback Class
Sunday’s Pop Ride marks the long-awaited Leanne Hainsby-Alldis first class back, and the format fits her signature style: high-energy playlists paired with pacing built for members returning to a routine or just looking for a lighter and fun Sunday session. Peloton’s announcement frames it as a ride-along moment for the community that has followed her leave closely, inviting members to join her return in real time for what will surely be a sparkly celebration.
While she was on maternity leave, Hainsby-Alldis noted that she leaned on low impact tread hikes to stay connected to the platform, describing even ten minutes as valuable during an unpredictable stretch with a newborn. That approach, and her openness about the realities of postpartum recovery, has resonated with a fan base that has followed her since 2018, when she and Ben became Peloton’s first UK-based instructors.
Hainsby-Alldis has also been candid about a 2022 breast cancer diagnosis at age 35 and the six months of treatment that followed, a history that has made her return to teaching carry extra weight for members who followed that journey. Sunday’s Pop Ride gives that audience a concrete moment to show up for.
