Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon Confirmed for 2026

The Peloton Tread instructor confirmed her next 26.2-mile race during a Chicago event with Jess Sims this week.

Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon news is official. The Peloton Tread instructor confirmed she is running the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 11 during a community event in Chicago this week, tying her next major race to a city that has already played a big part in her running story this year.

The announcement came at TOGETHXR House in Chicago’s West Loop, where Ferguson and fellow Peloton instructor Jess Sims led a community run and coffee chat during WNBA All-Star weekend. The Clip Out covered the TOGETHXR House event ahead of time, and the Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon reveal became one of its most talked-about moments, captured in an Instagram Reel from the appearance.

Ferguson broke the news with a laugh, telling the crowd, “Yes, I am still talking about it from two years ago.” Sims followed with a jab about Ferguson’s habit of carrying race hardware wherever she goes: “She be happy she didn’t pack her medal, she brings that damn thing everywhere.” Ferguson did not deny it. “I thought about it,” she said, “but I didn’t want to lose it.” The exchange gave the Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon news a lighter, more personal introduction than a typical announcement.

Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon Fits a Bigger Comeback

The Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon confirmation lines up with a training update she shared earlier this month, when she revealed she had begun day one of preparation for her second marathon. At the time, she outlined three changes to her approach, including a more selective strength routine built around runner-specific work and a mental commitment to sit with every part of the process, good runs and bad ones alike. The Chicago race now gives that training block its finish line.

Ferguson’s 2026 has already included a personal record at the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon in March and a finish at the Life Time Chicago Spring Half Marathon in May, one of five Peloton instructors racing across three cities that same weekend. Her first marathon came at the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, a race she once said she never planned to repeat. That progression makes the Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon entry the clearest marker yet of how far her running platform has grown since then.

With the Kirsten Ferguson Chicago Marathon date now set for October 11, the next several months of training will play out across her social channels, giving the Peloton running community a front-row seat to how instructor number two builds toward the start line in Grant Park.
