Who Is John Summit
John Summit, born John Walter Schuster, built his reputation on Chicago house music before breaking out as a solo artist. He worked as an accountant before moving into DJing full time, later founding the label Experts Only. His 2020 single “Deep End” became his breakout hit, and he has since released two studio albums, Comfort in Chaos in 2024 and Ctrl Escape in April 2026.
Peloton’s library now holds 605 On Demand classes built around his music, a total that keeps climbing. Our September Artist Series Overview has more on his career alongside this month’s Juanes series. Summit also headlines his own two-day Experts Only Festival NYC at Randall’s Island on September 20 and 21, just days after these Peloton classes launch
John Summit’s Connection to Fitness and Movement
Summit’s relationship with movement extends past the DJ booth. In a recent short film with Lululemon called 24 Hours in Movement, he described his approach to his craft as a mix of hard work and genuine care, framing his perfectionism as something rooted in passion rather than pressure.
He linked the physical act of DJing directly to movement, describing how getting a crowd dancing keeps people energized, and said his own life has increasingly revolved around that idea. He also compared the pressure of maintaining his career to an athlete’s mindset, noting that complacency is what gets a starting quarterback replaced. That framing lines up with how Peloton typically builds Artist Series programming, using an artist’s energy and story to shape the pace of a class.
With Summit’s own festival set for the same week his Peloton classes launch, and his catalog now woven through more than 600 classes on the platform, this Artist Series doubles as a preview of a busy month for the DJ.
