Jess Sims and the Mental Health Connection
Jess Sims is one of Peloton’s most recognizable tread and running instructors and a regular presence at community events hosted through Peloton Studios New York. Having her lead the Peloton run club for Mental Health Awareness Month is a natural fit. Sims has been a visible force in the Peloton community well beyond the platform, most recently hosting ESPN’s Courtside alt-cast at the 2026 NCAA Women’s Final Four and leading her Teacher Appreciation Tour across four cities this spring.
Peloton has described the event as an opportunity to “move with intention and create space for connection, reflection and support.” Mental Health Awareness Month is observed each May, and Peloton has tied both in-person and on-platform programming to the occasion in previous years, spanning its full range of offerings including tread, yoga, meditation, strength, and more.
This year, the Peloton run club gives members a concrete, community-centered way to mark the month.
Peloton’s Mental Health Awareness Month Classes
The run club is just one part of how Peloton is showing up for Mental Health Awareness Month. The platform has added several live classes to the May schedule across multiple disciplines, offering members purposefully designed and restorative experiences throughout the month. Instructors are ready to guide members through a month-long focus on mental wellness alongside physical fitness.
So far, live Mental Health Awareness Month classes are being offered at Peloton Studios New York, with more expected to be added to the schedule. It is worth keeping an eye on the PSNY schedule for updates as the month progresses.
Peloton and lululemon Support NAMIWalks Nationwide
The Peloton run club is also part of a broader conversation happening this May. Peloton and lululemon have joined forces to support NAMIWalks nationwide in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. The two brands are mobilizing their communities around mental health advocacy, reinforcing the message that well-being is a collective journey, not just an individual one.
This builds on Peloton’s long-standing relationship with NAMI, which dates back to 2021 and has grown into a multi-year collaboration spanning financial support, content creation, and community engagement. Whether you are joining the Peloton run club in New York or participating in a NAMIWalk in your own city, there are meaningful ways to get involved this month.
About Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the United States every May since 1949. It is a nationally recognized campaign to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage support for those affected by mental health conditions. Peloton’s participation through events like this Peloton run club, its on-platform class programming, and its partnership with lululemon for NAMIWalks reinforces the connection between physical movement and mental well-being, a relationship backed by a wide body of research.
