Jen Cotter Earns Top 25 Honor as Peloton Era Closes

The outgoing Chief Content Officer is recognized for building Peloton’s content infrastructure over seven years.

Jen Cotter, Peloton’s outgoing Chief Content Officer, has been named to Women We Admire’s Top 25 Women Chief Content Officers of 2026. The recognition lands as Cotter closes a seven-year chapter at Peloton, where she built the company’s content operation from the ground up across studios in New York and London.

Peloton Tenure

Jen Cotter joined Peloton as Chief Content Officer in May 2019, bringing with her more than 25 years of experience in television and digital media. Prior to Peloton, she spent nearly 13 years at HSN, most recently as executive VP for content, television and programming, where she oversaw a team of more than 500. Before HSN, she was one of the founding executives of the Oxygen Network, where she served as senior VP of development.

At Peloton, Cotter’s responsibilities spanned content production, instructor talent, live events, apparel, accessories, and music strategy, with teams operating across studios in New York and London. Her team produced more than 950 classes monthly across Peloton’s fitness disciplines, including indoor cycling, running, walking, strength, stretching, cardio, yoga, and meditation. Peloton has since expanded its platform further to include Tread classes, Row classes, Pilates, Meditation, and Outdoor content, among other modalities.

Cotter also spoke directly with The Clip Out on multiple occasions during her tenure. Cotter confirmed to The Clip Out that new menopause-focused programming was coming to the platform, a development that was well-received by members. She also addressed Peloton’s commitment to size inclusivity in its apparel line.

Jen Cotter and The Member-First Approach

Throughout her time at Peloton, Cotter was known for keeping the member experience at the center of content decisions. Her approach connected fitness programming with broader cultural moments, positioning Peloton’s instructors as recognizable figures beyond the platform itself. She served on Peloton’s DEI, risk, and ESG steering committees and acted as executive sponsor for Peloton’s Pride employee resource group.

Building Peloton’s Content and Partnership Portfolio

Cotter oversaw Peloton’s social media strategy and voice across the company’s main channels. She led partnerships with major artists and brands, including collaborations with Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, the NBA, the WNBA, Marvel, and lululemon. Under her leadership, Peloton also produced original content series and established a partnership with New York Road Runners, extending the platform’s reach into the running community.

Leadership Transition

Peloton announced in March 2026 that Sarah Robb O’Hagan had been named Chief Content and Member Development Officer, reporting to CEO and President Peter Stern, effective April 1, 2026. Cotter moved to a non-executive advisory role after the close of business on March 31, 2026, and will provide advisory services through August 16, 2026 under a transition agreement.

CEO Peter Stern credited Cotter directly in the announcement, saying her “vision serving as the catalyst in building our world-class content engine, instructor team, and global community.”

Women We Admire’s inclusion of Jennifer Cotter on its Top 25 Women Chief Content Officers of 2026 list reflects the scope of her work building Peloton’s content infrastructure over seven years. Her successor steps into a role built on that foundation.
