Former Instructor Irene Kaymer Returns to Peloton

Update:  Irene is making her way back to the cycling studio a little earlier than expected!  Initially slated for a Spring return, it was announced today that Irene’s first class back will be on Tuesday, February 13.  The announcement was made via Instagram Reel (of course), under the guise of Irene covering Erik’s classes while he enjoys a tropical beach vacation.  Check it out below!

Irene Kaymer (née Scholz) Returns to Peloton

BIG news!  Peloton enthusiasts, specifically in Germany and Austria, have something to look forward to as Irène Kaymer makes her comeback as a Peloton Strength and Cycling Instructor. The announcement came as a surprise to members attending Peloton Studios London’s London Calling Weekend, where she made a surprise appearance with Cycling and Strength Instructor Erik Jäger, announcing her return to the Peloton community.  Her return is set for Spring 2024, where she will teach live and on-demand cycling and strength classes across Germany and Austria.

Irene’s “Homecoming”

Four years ago, Irène joined Peloton as its first German-team instructor when the company launched in Germany. She brought with her a love and passion for health and fitness, which inspired Peloton members to keep coming back for more.  After taking a break to focus on starting a family, Irène made the decision to return to Peloton to share her love and passion for health and fitness with Peloton Members across Germany and Austria. While Peloton has seen only a handful of instructors depart over the past 10 years, this marks the first time in the company’s history that  any instructor has returned since Peloton’s inception.

“I can’t wait to begin teaching Peloton Members across Germany and Austria and helping them stay motivated wherever they are in their own fitness journey,” says Irène. Her renewed enthusiasm for teaching on the Peloton platform makes her a welcome (re)addition to the German Peloton community, especially as Peloton is now focusing its efforts on expanding into Austria.

The Vision for Irène’s Return

“We’re delighted to have Irène rejoin our thriving community as part of our continued investment in Germany and Austria, and we look forward to her return early next year,” says Martin Richter, General Manager for Peloton Germany and Austria. Peloton remains committed to creating a global community of people who strive to be their best selves, both physically and mentally.

Exciting things are clearly on the horizon for Peloton Germany and Austria.  But, we know that the return of an instructor will spark hopes of other long-gone, but certainly not forgotten instructors returning to the Peloton fold (not you, Oliver).  In anticipation of all of those “please hire _______ back next!,” we have reached out to Peloton to see if they would like to shed some light on that exact subject, and they have no further comment.
