Doggie Dates: Olivia Amato Reveals Belle’s Rescue Story
Peloton instructor Olivia Amato is sharing the story of Belle, a young rescue dog she met through her “Doggie Dates” and who has now been adopted. Olivia posted photos and video of Belle on Instagram, paired with a voiceover that walks through how the two connected.
Olivia is a Peloton instructor and is a committed advocate for animal rescue. She lives with rescue dogs Tobi and Rue, who make regular appearances on her Instagram Stories, and she has made adoption awareness a regular part of her social media. Each of her doggie dates puts an adoptable dog at the center of a full day of attention, adventure, and care.
Olivia joined Peloton as an instructor in 2018 after a career in finance. Fellow instructor Rebecca Kennedy, a regular in her cycling classes, encouraged her to audition. Olivia is now a Peloton Studios New York instructor who teaches cycling, running, strength, and cardio. She has co-led the Beginner Strength program with Matty Maggiacomo, and the two also taught a Wicked-themed Walk + Run as part of Peloton’s artist series. The Clip Out has followed Olivia’s love of dogs and related volunteer work closely. Episode 10 of Doggie Dates with Olivia introduced Kibou, a two year old Muddy Paws Rescue dog waiting for her forever home, and we covered Olivia at the Muddy Paws 10th year event. Belle’s story adds another chapter to a tradition that has put adoptable dogs in front of thousands of followers.
A Rescue Story Told Through Doggie Dates
Olivia says Belle was found tied to a door in the basement of an apartment building, alone and exhausted shortly after giving birth. A friend took Belle in temporarily and reached out to Olivia for help. The moment Olivia saw Belle’s face, she felt an immediate connection and knew she had to do something – a doggie date!
Olivia met Belle the next day and found her even sweeter in person. Belle was gentle, affectionate, and playful despite everything she had been through. The vet estimated Belle was not yet a year old, and her body was still recovering from giving birth.
What stayed with Olivia was how Belle responded to it all. Belle still wanted to play, curl up next to people, and feel safe, even after being let down by humans. Every Last One Rescue stepped in to sponsor Belle and give her a chance at the life she deserved.
Belle Shows Her Personality
In her Instagram caption, Olivia described Belle as a true cuddle queen who loves pajamas and a Lola Blanket. Belle soaks up the sun, does not mind eating snow, and can jump. Olivia called her the most grateful, sweet angel there ever was.
Olivia also thanked everyone who helped Belle get to this point and wrote that Belle is proof of what a little kindness can do. She added that she can’t wait for followers to see how far Belle has come.
Where Doggie Dates Go From Here
A commenter asked Olivia about adopting Belle, and she replied that Belle has since been adopted. She also pointed followers toward the next opportunity, telling them to keep an eye out for more adoptable dogs on doggie dates.
In her voiceover, Olivia said stories like Belle’s stand out because of how resilient animals are. They can experience the worst of humanity and still show the best of themselves, and sometimes one person choosing to care changes the course of a life.
More updates on Belle are expected, and The Clip Out will follow along as they arrive.
