Becs Gentry NYC Marathon coverage returns Sunday, November 1, when the Peloton Tread instructor rejoins the reporting team for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon. New York Road Runners confirmed the lineup on October 26, and the ESPN2 broadcast will reach nearly 500 million homes across more than 160 countries and territories.

The timing carries weight. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the five-borough course, and nearly 60,000 runners are expected on the route from Staten Island to Central Park.

Becs is part of a reporting group that includes veteran track and field commentator Lewis Johnson, Ali on the Run Show host Ali Feller, and ABC7 Eyewitness News reporters. The team covers the race from the start, the finish, along the course, and from above.

SportsCenter anchor Hannah Storm returns as host. John Anderson, Olympian Carrie Tollefson, and Paralympian Kurt Fearnley will analyze all four professional races from the booth, with Olympian Clayton Young and Paralympian Amanda McGrory also back. Olympian Kara Goucher and commentator Paul Swangard handle the international world feed.

For members who take her Tread classes, the Becs Gentry NYC Marathon assignment is a chance to hear a familiar coaching voice break down one of the world’s largest marathons in real time.

From Broadcast Debut to a Familiar Voice

The Becs Gentry NYC Marathon partnership with ESPN2 began in 2023, when she made her broadcast debut as a race reporter. She was back on the reporting team in 2025, and the 2026 race continues that run.

Her perspective on the course is earned. Becs was the first non-elite female finisher at the 2019 New York City Marathon in 2:37:01. That result gives Becs Gentry NYC Marathon reporting a firsthand understanding of the race she is covering.

Olympic Experience With NBC in Paris

In 2024, Becs made her Olympic debut as a reporter for NBCUniversal at the Paris Summer Olympics. The Clip Out covered the news when NBC brought her on for the Games, a move that took her from the Peloton studio to a global stage.

Before Paris, she spoke with Hurdle podcast host Emily Abbate about how television work differs from teaching at Peloton and about her mantra, “forward is a pace.” That Olympic experience adds depth to the Becs Gentry NYC Marathon story this year.

The Racing Résumé Behind the Microphone

Becs started as a Nike+ Run Club coach in London before joining Peloton in 2019 as a Tread specialist. She helped develop Road to Your 26.2, Peloton’s 18-week marathon training program, with fellow instructor Robin Arzón.

In 2021, she placed fourth at Great Britain’s Olympic Marathon Trials in 2:32:01, a build Peloton documented in the four-part docuseries The Roadmap. In November 2024, she completed the Great World Race: seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.

Her 2026 season moved to the trails. After winning the Napa Valley Trail Marathon outright in March, she finished the CCC at UTMB Mont-Blanc in August in 19 hours and 3 minutes. The course covered roughly 68 miles and 20,000 feet of climbing from Courmayeur, Italy, to Chamonix, France. Every line of that résumé shapes the Becs Gentry NYC Marathon perspective viewers will hear Sunday.

Peloton Connections Beyond the Becs Gentry NYC Marathon Coverage

Becs Gentry NYC Marathon reporting is only one Peloton thread on race day. Several instructors are lining up in Staten Island, and The Clip Out is following each of them in our guide to Peloton instructors running the NYC Marathon. Members with their own race on the calendar can also add the Focus Flow for Runners race week classes for mobility and recovery.

Watching the Becs Gentry NYC Marathon coverage while instructors run the course gives members a view of the race from both sides of the microphone. For a coach who asks her Tread class to keep moving forward, Sunday brings that message to a national audience on the ESPN2 broadcast.
