Ash Pryor Black Music Month Panel Celebrates Black Culture
Ash Pryor Moderates Black Music Month Panel at Peloton
The Peloton Row instructor led “Beyond the Beat,” a conversation on Black culture’s influence on music, held at Peloton Studios New York.
The Ash Pryor Black Music Month Panel appearance brought together voices from Spotify and the entertainment industry this week at Peloton Studios New York, as the Peloton Row instructor moderated a conversation on Black culture’s role in music and why that influence deserves recognition and protection.

The event, titled “Beyond the Beat: A Black Music Month Panel,” was shared by Pryor on Instagram, where she called it a “wonderful opportunity” where the discussion covered Black culture’s intersectionality with the music industry. She said the panelists “killed it” and added she “can’t wait to have you in a class one day,” directing that comment at one of the panelists.
Inside the Panel Lineup
The Ash Pryor Black Music Month Panel brought together voices from across the music business. Bitiyah, a Music Marketing Coordinator at Spotify, joined the conversation alongside entertainment lawyer and Peloton member Yemi Adegbonmire. Rounding out the lineup were Peloton Music Supervisor @WavyDonte and talent manager/music licensor Chris Cornish.
The event ties into Peloton’s existing relationship with Spotify, which launched a global partnership on April 27, 2026, placing more than 1,400 Peloton classes inside Spotify’s fitness category for Premium subscribers. That library spans Strength, Pilates, Barre, Yoga, Stretching, Meditation, Floor Cardio, and Outdoor content, giving Bitiyah’s presence on the panel an obvious throughline back to that ongoing collaboration.
DJ John Michael, who marked 10 years with Peloton earlier this year, was on hand capturing photos and video from the event. His involvement in documenting “Beyond the Beat” fits a role he has held for years, standing at the intersection of Peloton’s instructor talent and its music programming.

A Pattern of Advocacy
Moderating this panel adds to a body of public-facing advocacy work Pryor has built since joining Peloton. She has previously spoken on mental health and digital wellbeing alongside The Steve Fund, and earlier this year led a stretch session at a NAMI NYC walk before speaking at NAMICon 2026 in Atlanta. Pryor came to Peloton from a sports background at Ohio State University and founded Relentless Rowing Academy, a nonprofit aimed at making rowing more accessible to underrepresented athletes, a thread that runs through much of her work off the Row as well.
The Ash Pryor Black Music Month Panel arrived during a busy stretch on the Peloton calendar that also included Juneteenth programming across the platform. Pryor was among the instructors marking the holiday this year. Taken together, the panel and the surrounding programming reflect how Peloton has woven cultural observance into both its class library and its instructor-led public events.
After the Ash Pryor Black Music Month Panel: What’s Next?
Pryor’s role moderating “Beyond the Beat” also reflects how Peloton instructors increasingly show up off the leaderboard, lending their platforms to conversations that extend beyond fitness programming. Whether the panel leads to further collaboration between Pryor and any of Wednesday’s guests remains to be seen, but her comment about wanting to see one of the panelists “in a class one day” suggests the relationships built through this event could extend beyond a single conversation, though nothing has been confirmed.
