Texas Conference for Women, Keynote Speaker Tunde Oyeneyin on stage

Texas Conference for Women Keynote Features Tunde Oyeneyin

Peloton instructor and New York Times bestselling author Tunde Oyeneyin took part in the Texas Conference for Women on Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Moody Center in Austin. She appeared in the afternoon keynote session of a one-day event that drew more than 9,000 attendees.

Organizers of the Texas Conference for Women did not publish a title or summary for her talk, and no full recap of her remarks was available at the time of writing. One attendee shared a photo on Instagram with a quote from Tunde’s speech – “You can’t control when the door opens, but you can control who you become while you are waiting”.  This tracks with her official speaker biography that points to the themes she is known for, including confidence, self-awareness and personal growth.

The agenda placed Tunde in Keynote Session II, which ran from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. in the arena. She shared the session with actor, director, and producer America Ferrera, who appeared in conversation with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, host of The Interview at The New York Times Magazine.

Also listed were Tamara Fields, board president of the Texas Conference for Women and an Accenture managing director; Elizabeth Romero of Bank of America Business Banking; and Jeanette Ward, president and CEO of Texas Mutual Insurance Company. Organizers noted that speakers and order of appearance were subject to change. Tunde was also scheduled to sign books at the East Gate from 3:45 to 4:15 p.m.

The conference is produced by Conferences for Women, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that also holds events in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and California, along with a virtual National Conference. The Texas Conference for Women marked its 27th year in 2026 and has held its in-person event at the Moody Center since 2025, because of the redevelopment of the Austin Convention Center.

At the Texas Conference for Women, programming ran from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. and centered on artificial intelligence, career growth, leadership, and navigating a changing workplace. Attendees watched from assigned arena seats during two keynote sessions and three blocks of Power Talks, short sessions of 15 to 30 minutes on career, leadership, and wellbeing. The day also included one-on-one career coaching, resume reviews, professional headshots, sponsor exhibits, a bookstore with author signings, and an arena floor networking meetup. Select sessions were eligible for HRCI and SHRM continuing education credits for the first time.

The morning keynote session featured Hoda Kotb in conversation with KXAN anchor Erica Brennes, Olympic bronze medalist Ilona Maher, and Codie Sanchez, founder of Contrarian Thinking and author of Main Street Millionaire. Power Talk speakers included Michelle Khare, Shasta Nelson, and Dr. Sasha Hamdani. Kristen Bell, named in the April announcement from the Texas Conference for Women, does not appear on the final published agenda.

A Look Back at Tunde Oyeneyin’s Timeline

Tunde is a Texas native of Nigerian descent who spent more than 15 years as a professional makeup artist and brand educator before becoming a cycling instructor in Los Angeles and joining Peloton. Her book Speak, released in May 2022, debuted as a New York Times bestseller and introduced her S.P.E.A.K. philosophy: Surrender, Power, Empathy, Authenticity, and Knowledge. She is also a Nike athlete.

The past year has been full for Tunde. She joined the cast of Tyler Perry’s Sistas as a series regular in Season 10 on BET, playing entrepreneur Madison Truitt, and attended the BET Awards in a custom Keyue Chen Couture gown. Her Tunde x Peloton collection, a 41-piece line, launched in May.

Her Peloton work has stayed broad. She teamed with Adrian Williams on a full body strength class and, with Robin Arzon, helped launch the Split + Ride and Split + Run programs on August 14. She made her rookie debut in the 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, appeared in Peloton’s Let Yourself Go campaign with actor Hudson Williams, and stopped by the Netflix podcast Shut Up Evan’s Group Chat. The Clip Out has covered each of these events and more – you can read all of our Tunde coverage here.

Tickets to the Texas Conference for Women included access to the virtual National Conference on March 3, 2027. That event features highlights from recent in-person keynotes and breakout sessions, so content from the day in Austin may reach a wider audience there.

About the Author: Liz Nikol (#JustAskForHelp)

My daily therapy is provided by Peloton and I truly believe that movement is medicine. I don't discriminate - bike, tread, yoga, strength, pilates and a ton of meditation. By day, I am a psychotherapist and director of a large counseling center in NJ. I am particularly passionate about women's mental health, especially in midlife. By night, I am a mom to 2 dachshunds and a scruffy mutt and wife to a chiropractor that keeps us all moving (yes, that includes the dogs!). Besides Peloton, I am obsessed with hard rock (think Octane on Sirius), Law and Order everything and a good thriller. Find me on the Peloton leaderboard at #JustAskForHelp.
