Peloton Jewish New Year Classes Return for 5787

Cycling, running, and meditation sessions from Jenn Sherman, Robin Arzon, and Anna Greenberg mark the start of the High Holy Days on September 11.

Peloton Jewish New Year classes will be available to members at the start of the holiday, offering three new ways to mark the start of Hebrew year 5787. The sessions will be on demand Friday, September 11 at 12 a.m. ET, 5 a.m. BST, way ahead of the sundown start to the observances. For many, the coincidental timing of this year’s holiday with the 25th anniversary of September 11th will make this day extra reflective.

Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) marks the first of the High Holy Days and opens a ten day stretch on the Hebrew calendar known as the Ten Days of Repentance. Jewish tradition holds that this period is set aside for introspection, when individuals look back on the past year and consider how to make amends before the year is sealed.

These days of reflection culminate in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which begins at sundown on September 20 and ends at nightfall on September 21 this year. Custom holds that a person’s fate for the coming year is written in the Book of Life on Rosh Hashanah and sealed on Yom Kippur, making the ten days in between a season for reflection, repair, and renewal rather than a week-plus celebration.

What the Peloton Jewish New Year Classes Cover

As in prior years, the class lineup includes familiar instructors and formats: a 20 minute Jewish New Year Ride with Jenn Sherman, a 30 minute Jewish New Year Run with Robin Arzon, and a 10 minute Jewish New Year Meditation with Anna Greenberg. Peloton is framing the release around themes of growth, peace, and connection heading into the new year, language that echoes the reflective tone of the holiday itself.

Where to Find More Peloton Jewish New Year Classes

Members looking for prior years’ Peloton Jewish New Year classes can find them inside the Jewish Holidays collection, which currently holds 34 classes across cycling, running, meditation, and other formats. The same collection also houses Peloton’s Hanukkah classes, though those sessions are also cross posted into Peloton’s broader Holiday collection. Jewish American Heritage Month, observed every May, sits as its own separate collection with 12 classes, distinct from the Jewish Holidays hub that carries the new year and Hanukkah content.

With 34 classes (and three more coming) now built into the Jewish Holidays collection, Peloton has spent several years steadily expanding how members can take their reflections on their favorite modality. The three new Peloton Jewish New Year classes add to that library just as the Ten Days of Repentance begin, giving members a workout option that lines up with the reflective spirit of the season.
