Peloton Celebrates Global Running Day 2026
Global Running Day falls on Wednesday, June 3, and Peloton is marking the occasion with two encore running classes alongside in-person run club events at studios in New York, London, and Toronto.
The annual celebration, observed each year on the first Wednesday of June, encourages runners at every level to take part in some form of running activity. It started in 2009 as National Running Day in the United States and grew into a worldwide event with participants across more than 170 countries. Peloton members have both at-home and in-person options for the day.
Why Wednesday Programming Is Encore Only
Peloton does not schedule live classes on Wednesdays. That means any content airing on Global Running Day will be an encore, which is a previously recorded class rebroadcast on a set schedule in the app. For members who may not be familiar with the format, encore classes offer a shared experience at the listed time while also remaining available in the on-demand library afterward. Taking one at the scheduled time means moving alongside other members who are tuning in at the same moment, which fits naturally with the community-first spirit of Global Running Day.
Two Global Running Day Encore Classes
Two dedicated options are on the schedule for Wednesday, June 3.
At 1:30 p.m., a 30-minute Global Running Day Run airs as part of Peloton’s Move As One initiative, featuring multiple instructors. The Move As One branding signals a community-focused format. The class originally aired on Wednesday, May 27, making it a natural encore choice for the occasion.
At 2:05 p.m., Jermaine Johnson leads a 5-minute Global Running Day Cool Down Run. It’s a short session designed to close out any run, whether you’ve just stepped off the Tread or come back from outside. The cool down originally aired at 12:00 a.m. on June 3, suggesting it was created specifically for the day.
Both classes are labeled as encores in the Peloton app. Members can find them under the Running category on the scheduled class page.
Three Cities, Three Run Club Events
Alongside the app-based classes, Peloton is hosting in-person run club events at three studio locations on June 3. For members who can’t make it to one of the live events, the encore classes offer a way to participate in Global Running Day from home.
Full details, dates, times, and registration information are available in The Clip Out’s coverage of each event:
Peloton Studios New York Global Running Day
Peloton Studios London Global Running Day
Peloton Toronto Global Running Day
Peloton Sydney Global Running Day
The four events build on a pattern of in-person run club activations Peloton established at its New York and London studio locations earlier in 2026.
Peloton Run Club Events on Global Running Day
Peloton has expanded its Global Running Day programming year over year, combining dedicated classes, community experiences, and studio events into a broader push around the occasion. The mix of encore classes and in-person events reflects the platform’s approach to meeting members wherever they are on a given day, whether that’s on the Tread at home, at a studio, or out on the road.

Both the encore classes and the studio events are live on June 3. If Global Running Day is on your calendar, Peloton has something ready for you.
