Global Instructor Development Role Reopens at Peloton

Peloton has reopened its search for a Director, Global Instructor Development, according to a new posting on LinkedIn. The role has sat vacant since Austin Cagley left the position in February 2024, and its return signals renewed investment in how Peloton casts, coaches, and develops instructor talent worldwide.

What the Global Instructor Development Role Involves

Based in New York, the position oversees Peloton’s global instructor development strategy, casting, and Talent Producer organization. The Director will partner closely with the SVP, Global Content & Instructor Strategy, and will be responsible for establishing the frameworks, coaching philosophies, and best practices that guide instructor growth across all of Peloton’s markets.

The role also leads the New York based Talent Producer team directly, while working with a separate Director of Instructor Development & Operations to keep coaching methodologies consistent across international markets. Part of the mandate, per the posting, includes shifting Talent Producers from class execution partners into dedicated coaches focused on long term instructor development and brand growth.

Casting and Talent Pipeline Duties

On the casting side, the Director will own Peloton’s global instructor casting architecture, setting objective criteria for sourcing, auditioning, and signing talent. The posting calls for structured, equitable audition standards meant to support diverse representation across modalities, cultures, and markets, along with building long term talent pipelines rather than filling openings reactively.

The listing also notes the Director will support instructor contract renewal conversations by providing talent assessments and development recommendations, and will oversee outside development resources including media trainers and executive coaches.

Qualifications and Salary Range

Peloton is seeking a candidate with 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in talent development, casting, or performance coaching, along with a track record of scaling talent initiatives and leading creative or talent development teams. The posting lists a base salary range of $215,800 to $274,900 for the New York headquartered role, with additional equity awards and standard corporate benefits.

A Familiar Name to Longtime Members

Austin Cagley held the Director, Global Instructor Development role for nearly two and a half years after joining Peloton in October 2021. Longtime members may recognize his name from behind the scenes. Cagley occasionally appeared in on demand class test postings that were accidentally published to Peloton’s on demand library. His departure in February 2024 left the role open for more than two years before this posting appeared.

The reopened search comes as Peloton continues to expand its instructor roster and run casting calls throughout 2026, suggesting the company is looking to formalize leadership over instructor development at a moment when that side of the business is actively growing.
