Peloton Race Training Team Launches at the Perfect Time for Marathon Season

Last Updated: April 30, 2026By Tags: ,

The new community team connects runners with instructor-led support as Peloton’s Pace Your Race Marathon program gets underway.

The Peloton Race Training team launched today inside the Peloton app, giving runners a dedicated community space to connect, build accountability, and work toward race day together. In less than a day, the team has already surpassed 1,200 members.

What Is the Peloton Race Training Team

The Peloton Race Training team lives inside the Teams section of the Peloton app. It is a public team, meaning any member can search for it and join without an approval process. The team is owned by PelotonStudios and is led by instructors Matt Wilpers and Marcel Dinkins, two well-established names in Peloton’s running community.

The team description sets the tone directly: “Your race journey starts here. Train with our instructors and a community of runners who are building toward something together. Get expert guidance, stay consistent, and show up ready. Whether it’s your first race or your fastest yet.”

Members can track weekly stats, participate in team challenges, and connect with other runners chasing similar goals. The team covers both walking and running, making it accessible to members at different points in their training.

A Natural Fit for the Pace Your Race Marathon Program

The timing of the Peloton Race Training team launch pairs well with Peloton’s recently released Pace Your Race Marathon program. Peloton officially launched Pace Your Race on April 24, 2026, and it is available under Programs on both the Tread and the Peloton app. The 18-week structured plan is designed to take members from early base-building all the way through race-ready fitness, with Pace Targets that adapt coaching to each member’s individual speed.

The program is genuinely multi-disciplinary, weaving strength, mobility, meditation, and recovery work into the weekly schedule alongside tread sessions.

Having the Peloton Race Training team as a community home base while working through that 18-week plan gives members a place to share progress, celebrate milestones, and stay motivated when the long runs start piling up. The two work together in a way that feels intentional rather than coincidental.

Instructor Involvement Goes Beyond the Classroom

One of the more notable aspects of the Peloton Race Training team is what it signals about how Peloton is expanding the instructor role. Matt Wilpers, listed as a team instructor, is no stranger to race courses himself. He is currently chasing his sixth Abbott World Marathon Major star at the London Marathon, and his presence in the Race Training team feed already reflects that energy. His first post invited members to share their own medal moments alongside his most recent race photo.

Marcel Dinkins is also listed as a team instructor and leads the Week 6 long run in the Pace Your Race Marathon program.

That kind of instructor presence inside a community team extends the coaching relationship well beyond any single class, and gives the Peloton Race Training team a level of credibility that goes beyond a basic social feature.

How to Join the Peloton Race Training Team

Getting into the team is straightforward. Open the Peloton app, navigate to the Social or Community section, and tap on Teams. Search for “Race Training” and look for the verified PelotonStudios team. Tap to join and you are in.

Because the Peloton Race Training team is public, there is no waiting period. Members can start engaging with the feed, connecting with teammates, and joining challenges right away.

With the Pace Your Race Marathon program already live and fall racing season approaching, the timing makes this a smart moment to get connected. Whether you are deep into structured marathon training or just starting to map out a race goal, the Peloton Race Training team gives you a community to train alongside rather than going it alone.

Are you joining the Peloton Race Training team, and do you already have a fall race on your calendar?
