What to Know About the Matt Wilpers 10 Year Peloversary Ride

Matt announced the class on Instagram with a graphic that reads “Celebrate 10 years of Matt Wilpers” and invites members to join him for a special Two for One Ride with Vande Velde. The listing shows a 75 minute Power Zone Endurance class in the Cycling category, taught by Christian and Matt, at 7 AM ET and 12 PM BST.

Of course, the Matt Wilpers 10 year Peloversary ride falls on a Saturday morning, a day long associated with his Power Zone classes and weekly long rides. And to celebrate with his pal is perfection!

Ten Years of Power Zone, Row, and Run Programming

The Matt Wilpers 10 year Peloversary traces back to October 2016, when he joined Peloton as a cycling instructor after a career as a CPA that included three and a half years at KPMG. With Denis Morton, he built Peloton’s Power Zone Training program, and he developed three Power Zone Training courses for members.

He began teaching Peloton Row in 2022, teaches on the Tread, and leads the Strength for Runners series. He also contributed running-focused content to the HYROX Training Program led by Robin Arzón and Andy Speer. He has now completed two HYROX races, one in doubles and earlier this month, his first singles.

Triathlon, Periodization, Sport-Specific Training, and Of Course… Running!

Matt is one of the few instructors who teaches across all three hardware categories, and his Peloton Tri Collection reflects that. Introduced in 2025, it links three 30 minute classes for Row, Ride, and Run with five minute transitions. The second edition was held on September 19, 2026, and it is a tremendous fan favorite. It will be back again next year! This kind of community focused challenge is his hallmark.

His Power Zone Periodization Plan on the Bike gives members a structure for the full year. In 2026, it began taking more shape. We built our base in the winter, peaked in June, sustained in July, peaked again in August, reset in September, and we return to base work in October through the end of the year. It is (currently) an unofficial program (not “P”rogram), but it’s very popular alongside other the Power Zone programming available. The Clip Out has been following it all year and is providing a tracker to help organize the rides.

The Matt Wilpers 10 year Peloversary achievements also include sport-specific programming. Strength for Skiers, a week-long Two for One training program with Andy Speer and Irene Kaymer, debuted December 13, 2024. More recently, In August 2026, Peloton launched the Train for Tennis Program, a week-long plan of 15 classes that Matt built with coach Paul Annacone, who has worked with Pete Sampras, Tim Henman, and Roger Federer and currently coaches Taylor Fritz.

And let’s not forget his running! From his own marathon finishes to his expert curation in Peloton’s race training classes, Matt is simply unstoppable.

Expertise Beyond the Equipment

The Matt Wilpers 10 year Peloversary also reflects coaching work in other venues. From corporate keynotes to podcast appearances, and a focus on Longevity with Peloton experts (watch episodes on Peloton’s YouTube channel), Matt talks the talk and walks the walk. He trains and works alongside us an helps us understand what we are mentally and physically capable of doing, and he always encourages us to have a goal.

He is inclusive, supportive, funny, and kind. For someone who is notoriously private about his personal life (remember when he announced he was getting married? And then when he announced he and Jess had a baby?) he is one of the easiest instructors to connect with. This place definitely would not be the same without him!

Train hard, train smart, and always have fun. If this is not the best catchphrase out there, I don’t know what is.
