Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run Spotlights Gunna (1)

Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run: Will Gunna Surprise Peloton on Sept 14?

Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run Echoes Peloton’s Artist Visits

Gunna’s music has appeared in more than 100 Peloton classes, but he has never had a formal Artist Series. History suggests Monday’s answer could go either way.

A curious Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run is on the schedule live Monday, September 14, at 5:30 PM ET, and, unusually, Peloton’s schedule puts a single artist’s name directly in the title: Gunna. The bigger story isn’t the playlist. It’s whether Gunna will actually be there and why he’s hot in the fitness world right now.

Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run Names Gunna for the First Time

Gunna is not new to Peloton’s music library. His catalog has turned up in more than 100 classes across instructors including Marcel, Adrian Williams, Matt Wilpers, Alex Toussaint, and Jess Sims, making him one of the more frequently licensed hip-hop artists on the platform. The upcoming Marcel Dinking hip hop run builds on that history, marking a milestone for bot the artist and the instructor.

That makes Monday’s class notable on its own, regardless of what happens in studio. It’s the first time Gunna’s name has been attached directly to a class title rather than buried in a playlist credit.

When Peloton Artists Actually Show Up In Studio

Peloton has a real track record of artists appearing in person, and the pattern is worth knowing before assuming either outcome for Gunna.

Lizzo crashed Peloton Studios New York in person during her own Artist Series, joining Robin Arzón and Jess Sims mid-ride to celebrate her album Special, an appearance so popular it briefly crashed Peloton’s servers. Keith Urban became the first country artist to perform live in studio, playing through a pre-recorded class with Hannah Corbin ahead of All For One 2024. Feid appeared in person for his Artist Series ride with Camila Ramón, riding a custom neon green Bike built just for him.

Lil Jon offers the closest parallel to what may be happening with Marcel. His first visit came as a full Artist Series in June 2024, joining Dr. Chelsea Jackson Roberts for meditation and Alex Toussaint for Club Bangers in person. But he returned to PSNY in March 2025 for a second appearance that wasn’t a formal Artist Series at all.

It was a single guest spot inside Alex Toussaint’s existing Club Bangers Run, billed simply as Club Bangers Featuring Lil Jon. That naming pattern, an artist’s name folded into an existing class franchise rather than a standalone series, is structurally identical to the Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run with Gunna.

Most recently, Vanessa Mai was in the room sweating away in two classes at Peloton Studios London with Benny and Jeffrey as part of Schlager Week, and who can forget the epic Anastacia studio visit with Charlotte and Hannah Frankson!

What’s the Gunna Connection?

Gunna, born Sergio Kitchens, built his career through Young Thug’s YSL Records and 300 Entertainment, breaking through with 2018’s Drip Season 3 and the Lil Baby collaboration Drip Harder. His solo albums Wunna and DS4EVER both topped the Billboard 200, and hits including “Fukumean,” “Pushin P,” and “Drip Too Hard” have kept him in heavy rotation well beyond hip-hop’s core audience.

Notably, he will be in Atlanta on September 13 hosting his “Wunna Run Club,” a 5K oportunity to run alongside the star. His website describes the experience in the FAQs  this way:

  • What is Wunna Run Club?
    • Health and wellness are an important first step to living a positive lifestyle. Gunna invites you to run alongside him as you start or continue your own wellness journey.

In fact, Gunna himself has been on a fitness journey for the past few years and his embrace of running is one example of how musicians are turning the sport into something even more special.

… And this year he was on the cover of Men’s Health magazine!

Now the real question is, if Gunna is in fact there in studio, the day after hosting his Atlanta Wunna Run Club event, can he keep up with the coach during this unique class? We can’t wait to see how the Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run unfolds!
