Fun Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party 20-Minute Class: Review
Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party Walk + Run Drops and A Good Time Was Had
Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy join a 20-minute Tread class that turns into a conversation about motherhood, coaching, and five years at Peloton.
The Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party class is a 20-minute Walk + Run that plays more like an interview than a typical workout.
Ferguson leads the Tread class with Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy, who joined her to celebrate their women’s sports podcast, Welcome to the Party. The class was dropped on demand starting September 29, 2026. Take the class here.

What Happens in the Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party Class
The class was prerecorded with members in the studio, which gives it a relaxed, communal feel. Given the guests and the title, I expected a conversation about women’s sports. The podcast itself never came up beyond the initial explanation. Instead, Wambach and Foudy turned the focus to Ferguson.
Their questions centered on her evolving role at Peloton and her life as a mom and a coach, her community, side projects, and being “ratchet.” Ferguson also reflected on her recent five-year Peloversary, which Peloton marked with a Greatest Hits collection of her classes. The questions are strong enough to interest people who do not follow Ferguson, and they offer a good revisit for those who do.

The workout is a 15-minute block of Walk & Run Intervals inside the 20-minute class. Recovery Pace segments of two to three minutes alternate with one-minute efforts that build from Moderate to Challenging, Hard, and Max Pace.

The playlist carries the theme throughout, with tracks including “Party” by Beyoncé featuring André 3000, “Where the Party At” by Jagged Edge and Nelly, and “Party In The U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus. Finishing with Doja Cat’s “Woman” was perfect.

In a twist, the Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party class ended with a “Minute to Win It” sprint, with Wambach and Foudy spotlit and running head to head. This was a high intensity surprise after a pretty well-paced class that was more of a conversation. It was a fun ending!

The Welcome to the Party Podcast and Its Hosts
Welcome to the Party launched in September 2025 as a women’s sports show hosted by Wambach and Foudy, with recurring appearances by tennis icon Billie Jean King. New episodes arrive every Tuesday and Thursday with athletes and leaders from across women’s sports, and the show describes its mission as building a community that celebrates and elevates women’s sports.

Wambach is the U.S. women’s national team’s all-time leading scorer, with 184 goals in 255 games. She won Olympic gold in 2004 and 2012, won the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and was named 2012 FIFA World Player of the Year. Foudy captained the team and won World Cup titles in 1991 and 1999 and Olympic gold in 1996 and 2004. She was captain when Wambach joined in 2003 and retired in December 2004.
Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party for Walkers and Newer Runners
I do not run, so I took the Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party class as an outdoor walk, which is my favorite way to take her classes generally. I finished feeling mentally rejuvenated, as I usually do after one of hers.
What stood out most was the tone. With two icons of women’s soccer on the treadmills, the conversation still carried a steady message: you are doing your best, and that is awesome. It is a message I always appreciate hearing via Peloton.
All three women are serious competitors. Ferguson completed her first marathon at the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, set a personal record at the 2026 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon in March, and is running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 11. All of this after not being a runner to start! (Did you know she was a spinning instructor before being hired at Peloton?) Through this lens, it was good to hear all of them be candid.
I would also recommend the Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party class to newer runners. The intervals progress to the hardest level, but with only 20 minutes on the clock each interval is short, and Ferguson explains each one clearly. Runners who want a longer on-ramp can look at her Call Yourself a Runner program, which she designed with that group in mind.
The Kirsten Ferguson Welcome to the Party class was not what I was expecting, but it was a great way to pass the time with some movement and in the company of three incredible women.
