Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut Meet-Up Opens Her Chicago Marathon Weekend
Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut Meet-Up Launches Race Weekend Events
The Peloton Tread instructor hosts a pre-race runners gathering in Chicago on Friday, October 9, two days before her second marathon.
The Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut meet-up gives runners a place to gather before Chicago Marathon weekend. Peloton Tread instructor Kirsten Ferguson is hosting the pre-race event on Friday, October 9, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sunglass Hut, 900 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611.

Ferguson shared the invitation in a recent Instagram Story. The graphic carries the title “Set Your Intentions,” bills the gathering as a runners meet-up celebrating community, motivation, and connection, and closes with a line that sets the tone: “Come ready to connect. Leave ready to run.”
What to Expect at the Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut Meet-Up
Guests at the Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut meet-up can set intentions for race weekend, add their goals to a community board, and refuel with fresh juices and snacks. The first 20 guests will receive a special gift.
Registration runs through a Google Form, and the Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut sign-up link appeared in her Story. Four questions are required: full name, email address, social handle, and whether you are running the Chicago Marathon this weekend. The answer choices are “Yes, I’m running,” “No, I’ll be cheering from the sidelines,” and “Not this year, just here for the community.” That last option makes clear the event is open to anyone who wants to be part of marathon weekend, not only registered runners.
An optional final question asks for one goal or intention you are setting for race weekend or beyond.
Ferguson Heads Into Her Second Marathon With Chicago Ties
Ferguson will run the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 11. It will be her second marathon, following the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon. The Clip Out first reported her plans after she shared them at the TOGETHXR House event in Chicago’s West Loop during WNBA All-Star weekend, alongside Jess Sims.
Chicago has been part of her race calendar all year. She ran the Life Time Chicago Spring Half Marathon in May and completed the Chicago Half Marathon on September 26, as covered in our look at instructors racing in three cities.
Her preparation also looks different the second time around. Ferguson told followers she changed her approach with more speed work, hill training, and a revised strength schedule built around long runs.

Kirsten also has a personal connection in Chicago, as she posts such lovely pics on her IG of time spent with her beau, Matt Brewer, a current mayoral candidate.
Friday Also Includes a Peloton Shakeout Run
The Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut meet-up is one of two Friday events with her name on them. Later that day, she leads a complimentary Peloton 5K shakeout run at Caffè Oliva at Ohio Street Beach, 550 E Grand Ave, with check-in at 4:45 p.m. and a 5:30 p.m. start. Registration for that run is separate and goes through Peloton’s event page.
Together, the two events give runners a goal-setting session at midday and an easy shakeout in the evening, two days before the race begins in Grant Park. For anyone in Chicago that weekend, the Kirsten Ferguson Sunglass Hut gathering is a fun lower-key way to meet other runners before Sunday.
