Hip Hop Ride with Eve Lands in Studio With Hannah Frankson

The upcoming Hip Hop Ride with Eve puts a Grammy-winning rapper in the studio with Hannah Frankson, and it lands in the middle of a busy stretch for the Peloton instructor. Peloton’s schedule lists the 30-minute cycling class as an encore at 2:00 AM on Wednesday, September 30. Set your alarms! (Or your tambourines!)

Hip Hop Ride with Eve Follows the Gunna Class Pattern

The class title puts one artist’s name directly in the listing, the same approach Peloton used for the Marcel Dinkins Hip Hop Run that named Gunna on September 14.

The Hip Hop Ride with Eve also builds on a format Frankson already teaches. She has led Hip Hop Ride classes at 20, 30 and 60 minutes, so this version folds a guest artist into an existing class type. She also loves her 2000s! There does not yet appear to be an Eve Artist Series on Peloton, which makes a studio class with her a separate moment. There are currently 616 classes in the On Demand library with her hit songs.

Eve: An Icon of the Early 2000s

Eve emerged in the late 1990s as the first lady of the Ruff Ryders crew, and that period remains the core of her catalog. Her 1999 debut, Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady, topped the Billboard 200 and produced “Gotta Man” and “Love Is Blind.”

Her 2001 follow-up, Scorpion, went platinum and included “Who’s That Girl?” and “Let Me Blow Ya Mind,” the Gwen Stefani duet that won the first Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. The video also took the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video in 2001, and “Gangsta Lovin'” with Alicia Keys followed in 2002.

Her influence reached well past the charts. Close-cropped blonde hair and paw print tattoos on her chest became her signature look, and her polished style set her apart from other female rappers of the era. She starred in the Barbershop films, and had a range of TV appearances. For anyone who watched MTV, went to the movies or turned on network television in the early 2000s, Eve was hard to miss.

Tambourine Already Has Peloton History

Longtime members will recall that Eve’s 2007 single “Tambourine” anchored Peloton’s 2023 holiday campaign, Work Out Your Way, which launched November 7, 2023.  The 60-second hero spot opened with instructors Alex Toussaint and Kendall Toole, then moved through members cycling, walking, dancing and strength training. Peloton’s release called the song an iconic 2000s hip hop track. Who can forget those adorable Tread walkers at the end, with the woman saying “Gotta Love That!” So good!

Hannah Frankson Is on a Hot Streak

The Hip Hop Ride with Eve arrives not long after Frankson debuted the 1:3:5 Ride on September 22, a format that is instantly a fan favorite. The new signature series packs one endurance effort, three intervals and five high-intensity pushes into 30 minutes. And, her calendar keeps filling. Frankson leads a live Skepta Ride at Peloton Studios London on October 24 as part of the October Artist Series programming.

Eve Heads to Europe on the Scorpion Tour

The Hip Hop Ride with Eve also comes just ahead of her tour. Eve has announced her debut headlining tour of the UK and Europe, celebrating 25 years of Scorpion. The tour opens October 9 in Helsinki and closes November 4 in Amsterdam, with a London stop on November 2 at the O2 Kentish Town Forum.
