Hannah Frankson Drops a New FTP Test Ride, and the Timing Could Not Be Better

A fresh option for Power Zone riders with a playlist built for less rock and more rhythm.

If you have been putting off your FTP retest, Hannah Frankson just gave you one more reason to stop waiting. Peloton quietly added a new Hannah Frankson FTP test ride to the platform on May 17, 2026, along with a 10-minute FTP Warm Up Ride to pair with it. Both classes are On Demand now.

The timing lines up well for anyone following Matt Wilpers’ unofficial 2026 Power Zone training plan. Matt laid out a month-by-month periodization roadmap for the year, identifying June as the first peak month, with the focus shifting to threshold, VO2, and anaerobic capacity work. For riders wanting to check their zones after a solid six months of work, knowing that this Hannah Frankson FTP Test Ride class is waiting, is encouraging.

Power Zone riders who want the full picture on Matt’s year-long roadmap can read our coverage here.

Hannah and Matt: The Coaching Bond Behind the Class

If you know anything about Hannah Frankson’s relationship with Matt Wilpers, this class carries some extra context that should make it fun… or as fun as an FTP test can be. She has long been open about her admiration for his coaching and his leadership within the Power Zone program, and that dynamic showed up in vivid form just a few weeks ago.

During London Marathon weekend in late April, Matt appeared in Hannah’s live Power Zone Endurance class at Peloton Studios London, riding front and center while she coached. Members at home and live in the studio watched her lean into the moment with a pointed, deliberate playlist. A member submitting this ride as a favorite for the TCO Top 5 that week noted that she “pretty sure had him blushing.” That class became an instant community favorite.

That ride followed a weekend where Hannah and Matt had already shared a fireside chat at Peloton Studios London, discussing how strength work, cross-training, and recovery contribute to marathon performance. The two have a coaching alignment that goes beyond just being colleagues on the same platform. Our coverage of Hannah’s HIIT and Hills class plan for 2026 captures how closely her training philosophy mirrors his approach: build the floor before reaching for the ceiling.

Hannah has also recently spoken in rides about really dialing into taking her coaching to the next level for members. With a mentor like Matt, this is exciting news!

Is the Hannah Frankson FTP Test Ride Right for You?

The Hannah Frankson FTP test ride is a strong option for Power Zone riders who find the standard rock-heavy FTP test playlists harder to get through. Hannah’s musical programming skews toward uptempo hip hop and electronic tracks (including both US and UK artists and subgenres), and this class is no different. That is not a style note. It is a functional one. Music pacing and genre can affect how you move through an effort-based test, and for riders who find heavy rock a distraction rather than a fuel source, this playlist is worth a try.

This is also not Hannah’s first FTP test class on the platform. We reviewed her original FTP test ride here, and that piece is worth reading for a sense of her coaching approach during a test, including her use of breath cues and her emphasis on curiosity over intensity.
