Erik Jäger Opens Up in Men’s Health Germany

Peloton instructor Erik Jäger has landed a feature in the March 2026 edition Men’s Health Germany magazine, where he reflects on how men’s relationship with fitness and identity has changed over the course of his career.
A Shift He Has Watched Up Close
In the piece, Erik Jäger draws on more than a decade of experience as a personal trainer to describe what he has witnessed firsthand. When he started working with clients in his early 20s, the pattern was consistent: men trained alone, kept to the free weights section, and largely avoided group fitness. “Group fitness classes? Unthinkable for many,” he said. Today, he describes a meaningful shift. Men now attend run clubs and yoga sessions without hesitation, and they increasingly understand that physical performance is about more than muscle mass.

For Erik Jäger, that change runs deeper than workout preferences. “Masculinity today is less a rigid role model and more an individual decision about how one defines strength,” he said in the feature. He describes masculinity as something that has expanded: less loud and unapproachable, more reflective, open, and health-conscious.
If you’ve watched him do his hilarious partner workouts on his IG with Jon, Cliff, Jeffrey, and Assal, you know that men also understand the importance of having fun!
Erik Jäger’s Work on the Peloton Platform
It is a perspective that aligns with how he approaches his work on the Peloton platform. Erik joined Peloton as the second German-speaking instructor and has built his presence across cycling, running, and strength classes. His Instagram, where he posts under the handle @hauptstadttrainer, also notes his role as a lululemon ambassador and his work with the Erik Jäger Foundation. Before Peloton, he worked his way up to training some of the top talent in Germany, including many of the country’s elite soccer players.

The Men’s Health Germany feature adds to a busy stretch of visibility for the Berlin-based instructor. Earlier this month, Erik Jäger led live workout sessions at the Precor/Peloton booth at FIBO 2026 in Cologne, one of the biggest international fitness expos of the year.
