Doggie Dates with Olivia: Kibou Steals Hearts in NYC

Peloton instructor Olivia Amato introduces Kibou, a two year old Muddy Paws Rescue dog who is winning hearts while she waits for her forever home.

Doggie Dates with Olivia is back for episode 10, and this time Peloton instructor Olivia Amato introduces Kibou, a two year old rescue dog whose gentle nature makes it hard to believe what she has already survived. Kibou is not yet up for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue, but her latest Doggie Date offers an inside look at the sweetness that has already made her impossible not to love.

Who Is Kibou, the Star of This Doggie Dates with Olivia Episode

Kibou was found as a stray on the streets of New York City before being taken in by Animal Care Centers of NYC. She was later pulled from the shelter by Muddy Paws Rescue, the nonprofit behind this Doggie Dates with Olivia episode. Her name means “hope” in Japanese, and Olivia says it could not be more fitting.

Kibou arrived at the rescue with two massive ulcers that have since been repaired. Thanks to the generosity of the 1510 Foundation, all of her medical expenses are being covered while she heals and prepares for her next chapter. Little is known about her life before rescue, but despite everything she has endured, Kibou continues to steal the hearts of nearly everyone she meets.

Olivia describes her as one of the gentlest, sweetest dogs she has ever met. Kibou is a professional heart stealer, a leash walking queen, and a dog who loves people and other dogs equally. She is also a self declared lambie enthusiast, with a clear preference for anything soft and cuddly.

A Day of Firsts on This Doggie Dates with Olivia Visit

Every Doggie Dates with Olivia outing is built around giving an adoptable dog a day of pure joy, and Kibou’s was no exception. She got her first ever pup cup, along with treats from Just Food For Dogs. She picked out an armful of new lambies, confirming that stuffed sheep are, without question, her favorite toy.

The day also included finding Kibou her very own big girl bed, a Squishmallow shark that now doubles as her favorite lounging spot. Olivia spent the visit doting on Kibou, and the two clearly built a bond over the course of the day. Anyone who has followed a Doggie Dates with Olivia segment before knows this is the point where a shelter dog starts to feel less like a name on a kennel card and more like a personality people want to meet.

How to Adopt Kibou Through Muddy Paws Rescue

Kibou is not yet available for adoption. Muddy Paws Rescue says she still needs time to continue healing, but the organization expects her to be ready in the near future. When she is, she will need a home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and completely cared for, while continuing to be the gentle, joyful dog she has always been.

Anyone interested in adopting Kibou should keep checking back on Muddy Paws Rescue’s Instagram for her official adoption announcement and application details once she is ready. Whoever eventually brings Kibou home will be lucky, but more than that, they will be giving her the ending she has been waiting for.
