Peloton’s Breathwrk Certification Courses 2 Available

Breathwrk certification may not be on most Peloton members’ radar, but it probably should be. Breathwrk, which Peloton acquired in October 2025, offers two courses for anyone interested in becoming a trained breathwork coach. Whether you’re a fitness professional looking to add credentials or someone who simply wants to go deeper into the practice, the program is worth knowing about.

What the Breathwrk Certification Program Offers

There are two options available through the Breathwrk certification program. The first is the Level 1: Essentials of Breathwork Coaching, a 22-lesson course that includes quizzes and video content. It’s designed to teach participants how to breathe correctly themselves and how to lead others through science-backed techniques. It’s priced at $500 and is available directly through the Breathwrk certification page.

The second option is the Functional Breathing Course, a shorter, more accessible entry point at $59. It covers the fundamentals of optimal breathing across nine lessons and about an hour of video content. It’s practical for personal use and for anyone who wants to start incorporating breathwork guidance into an existing wellness or fitness practice.

What a Breathwork Coach Actually Does

A certified breathwork coach guides individuals and groups through controlled breathing techniques to influence the nervous system, emotional state, and physical well-being. That happens across a range of settings: one-on-one wellness coaching, yoga studios, corporate wellness programs, and athletic performance environments.

The day-to-day work includes teaching specific breath pacing and retention protocols, helping clients regulate their nervous systems, providing trauma-informed support for emotional processing, and assisting athletes and professionals with recovery and mental resilience. Because the breathwork industry is largely unregulated, certification doesn’t carry legal medical authority. What it does signal is that a coach has completed formal training in breath physiology and neuroscience, safety protocols, and supervised facilitation practice.

Why This Connects to Your Peloton Practice

If you’ve been using the Breathwrk app through your Peloton membership, you already have a head start on understanding what the certification curriculum covers. The app’s library of nearly 100 guided breathing exercises is grounded in the same physiological research on the autonomic nervous system and vagal tone that informs formal breathwork training. Peloton has since expanded that content significantly. As of the company’s Q3 FY2026 earnings call on May 7, 2026, the Peloton wellness platform includes more than 140 instructor-led Breathwrk classes.

That level of investment from Peloton reflects how seriously the company is treating breathwork as a content category, not a side feature. For members who have already made breathwork a regular part of their recovery or stress management routine, a Breathwrk certification is a natural next step if coaching others is something they’ve considered.

The Benefits Breathwork Coaches Help Others Access

Understanding the documented benefits of breathwork practice is part of what coaching certification teaches. Controlled, conscious breathing shifts the nervous system in measurable ways. Consistent practice is associated with lower cortisol levels, improved heart rate variability (HRV), better sleep through techniques like the 4-7-8 method, sharper cognitive function, emotional regulation, and reduced chronic inflammation. These are the same outcomes Peloton members access through the Breathwrk app every time they use it for recovery, sleep, or stress relief.

Coaches learn to guide clients toward those outcomes across a range of settings and goals, from performance optimization to trauma-informed support.

Who Should Look Into Breathwrk Certification

Yoga instructors, personal trainers, wellness coaches, therapists, and corporate wellness professionals are obvious fits. But the program isn’t exclusively for credentialed practitioners. Anyone with a developed personal practice who wants to guide others in a structured, informed way can complete the curriculum.

For Peloton members who already use the Breathwrk app regularly, the Level 1 course adds professional depth to a practice that may already feel like second nature. Details on both courses are available at breathwrk.com/certification.
