The Becs Gentry Speedgoat 50K finish adds another line to an already active year of ultra racing for the Peloton Tread instructor. Gentry crossed the finish line at Snowbird over the July 25-26 weekend after covering 33 miles and more than 11,400 feet of elevation gain, a course widely regarded as the toughest 50K in the United States.

She finished 118th overall, with a time of 8:29:59. Wow!

Speedgoat 50K Course Tests Every Runner

Part of the Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB, the course starts and finishes at the Snowbird Center and climbs through a series of steep ascents to the summits of Snowbird and Baldy before a technical descent back to the plaza deck. Becs ably tackled this route, known for rocky singletrack, exposed ridgelines, and long climbs above 11,000 feet. In her Instagram caption, she described the conditions as multiple rock fields, patches of snow, and sizzling sun across the day, and said she considered dropping out more than once before deciding to keep moving forward one step at a time.

A Personal Motivation Behind the Miles

Gentry framed the race as something she did for herself, writing that she wanted to see whether she could do it and reasoning that if not now, when. She also tied the effort to her daughter, Tallulah, noting that heart-shaped rocks along the course and a ski run named Fluffy Bunny stood out as emotional markers during the miles. Gentry has spoken publicly before about balancing motherhood with elite-level training, and this race continued that thread. She closed her caption with a simple line that has become something of a personal mantra: forward is a pace, forever.

Continuing a Breakout Trail Season

The Speedgoat finish extends a trail running stretch that has defined Gentry’s 2026 season. She opened the year with an overall win at the Napa Valley Trail Marathon, followed that with her debut at the Canyons 50K in April, and spoke candidly about the burnout and recovery behind that pivot in a recent episode of the Set the Pace podcast. Each result has pushed her further into ultra distance racing, a space she has approached with the same visibility she brings to her Peloton Tread classes.

For Peloton members who have followed Gentry’s programming in recent months, the connection is not subtle. Hill-heavy Tread workouts and climb-focused training blocks have tracked closely with the demands of a course like Speedgoat, and this result gives that training a clear payoff.
